Alexander was almost asleep when he felt her move. He opened his eyes immediately and looked at Evelyn.

Right now, she was like a little cat. She found a comfortable spot in his arms, rubbed against him, murmured something, and fell back asleep.

Alexander didn't know whether to laugh or cry. He had spent a long time getting her to sleep, and now she was out cold again.

Evelyn woke up in the middle of the night, feeling thirsty. She tried to get up to get some water, but in her daze, she felt something.

She let out a startled cry.

Alexander woke up and turned on the light. He looked at Evelyn.

He let out a sigh of relief.

Evelyn stared at Alexander, still half-asleep and confused. She couldn't quite process what was happening.

"Did you have a nightmare?" Alexander asked, stroking her cheek to soothe her.

Evelyn flinched as if shocked. She suddenly woke up completely.

She shook her head. "No, I'm just thirsty. I want some water!"

Her face was bright red, all the way down to her neck. She lifted the blanket, ready to get out of bed.

"I'll get it!" Alexander grabbed her arm and said.

Then he got up, walked around to the other side of the bed, and went out to get the water.

Evelyn had no choice but to stay in bed and wait for him to come back.

A moment later, Alexander returned with a glass of water and handed it to her.

Evelyn drank half of it. Then she turned to him and asked, "Owen, did he go back?"

"He's not going back. Did you expect him to sleep in the living room?" Alexander said with amusement.

"Then... does he know I'm sleeping here?" Evelyn asked, panicked.

She hadn't even explained things to him yet! If Owen knew she was sleeping in the same bed as Alexander, she would never be able to clear things up.

"What's wrong with you today? You're talking nonsense." Alexander touched her forehead and asked.

Evelyn stared at him blankly. "Aren't you afraid Owen will misunderstand?"

"What's there for him to misunderstand?" Alexander said playfully.

"Oh!" Evelyn answered, drawing out the word.

She didn't know if Alexander was just too dense, or if Owen trusted him that much.

"Finish your water. Go back to sleep. We have to get up early tomorrow."

"Okay," Evelyn replied.

She finished the rest of the water, put the cup on the nightstand, and lay back down.

Alexander reached out, turned off the light, and pulled her into his arms.

Evelyn froze. Her whole body went stiff as a board.

Was Alexander still drunk? Did he think she was Owen?

Just as she was muttering to herself, Alexander's hand moved to her chest and gently covered it.

Evelyn was terrified by the atmosphere. His hand was in the wrong place. She was about to push it away.

But the moment she touched his hand, he grabbed hers. Before she could react, Alexander rolled over and pinned her down.

Evelyn's mind went blank. It felt like a mountain was pressing down on her.

Alexander lowered his head and kissed her lips. He kissed her very gently, not rushing or forcing anything.

It took Evelyn a long moment to come back to her senses. Before she could cry out, Alexander had already captured her lips, and her voice was lost in his kiss.

This was their first intimate moment, completely without warning.

After what felt like an eternity, Alexander pulled back. His voice was slightly hoarse. "I promised you I'd wait until our wedding night. I'm sorry, I couldn't control myself today."

"No... it's fine!"

It wasn't fine. It was strange! She had been so scared, she almost lost her innocence!

Luckily, Alexander had stopped at the last moment. Otherwise, she would have gone from being a girl to a woman by morning.

At that moment, Evelyn didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Should she be glad he let her go, or should she be annoyed and embarrassed that she had been kissed and held like that?

Evelyn couldn't sort out her thoughts and fell asleep again.

When she woke up, it was morning. She looked out the window and saw the sunlight was already bright.

She was confused for a moment before she remembered to get up. The image of their midnight encounter flashed through her mind.

Her sleepiness vanished in an instant. Evelyn reflexively looked down at herself.

Luckily, her pajamas were still perfectly in place. She turned to the other side of the bed. Alexander wasn't there.

Was it all just a dream?

While she was still thinking vaguely, Evelyn got out of bed and went into the bathroom to wash up. When she looked in the mirror, she saw the marks on her neck and let out a sudden scream.

"What's wrong?" Alexander, who was changing in the dressing room, heard her scream and quickly stepped into the bathroom. "What happened?"

"I got bitten by bedbugs!" Evelyn said pitifully, pointing at the red marks on her neck.

Alexander's eyes fell on her pale neck. There were red marks on it, but they definitely weren't from bedbugs. They were from him.

He walked over, touched her head, and said in a slightly doting tone, "It's not bedbugs. It's a hickey. Little fool."

Then he went back to the dressing room to finish changing.

"A hickey?" Evelyn murmured to herself. A second later, she finally understood.

Wasn't a hickey just a mark left by a kiss? Evelyn's face turned bright red.

She turned to look at the door between the bathroom and the dressing room, then looked back. She lowered her head, squeezed out some toothpaste, and muttered, "So it wasn't a dream!"

While brushing her teeth, she wondered: wasn't Alexander supposed to be gay? Didn't gay men like other men? How could he kiss her?

Was Alexander bisexual? Did he like both men and women? Thinking about this, Evelyn couldn't help but shiver.

The next second, she quickly comforted herself. Alexander must have drunk too much last night and mistaken her for Owen.

To emphasize this possibility, she nodded her head again and comforted herself.

By the time Evelyn finished washing up, changed her clothes, and walked out of the bedroom, Alexander was already preparing breakfast. She wanted to help, but he said no, telling her to just wait in the living room.

Evelyn didn't insist. She sat on the sofa in the living room and read a book.

After breakfast, Evelyn went back to school. She had a class in the morning. And she hadn't brought any books, so she had to go back to her dorm first.

She could have asked Emily and Stella to take her books to the classroom for her. But today's textbooks were a bit heavy, and she was short on time, so she went back to the dorm to get them herself.

When she reached the dormitory door, it was open. There were people inside, discussing something.

Just as Evelyn was about to open the door, she heard someone inside mention her name. "Didn't Evelyn come back to the dorm last night?"

"She went home to stay."

"Stella, call Evelyn and ask her. She hasn't seen it."

"It's impossible for her to have taken it!" Stella said directly.

"I didn't say Evelyn took it. I just asked if she had seen it."

Evelyn didn't know what had happened, so she opened the door and walked in.

"Evelyn, you're back just in time. We were just about to call you," Stella said excitedly when she saw her.

"Hello, Sister Jing!" After greeting Charlotte, Evelyn asked, "What happened?"

"Have you seen Emily's iPad?"

"Isn't it always on her bed?" Evelyn asked, confused.

"She couldn't find it today," Stella explained.

"No way. Emily usually puts her iPad on the bed. I think I even saw it there yesterday at noon!" Evelyn said, standing on her tiptoes to look at Emily's bedside.

But after scanning the area, she didn't see the iPad that Emily usually kept on her bed.

"I came back to the dorm very late yesterday, and I didn't use it. I couldn't find it when I wanted to use it this morning," Emily explained.

"Did you forget where you put it?" Evelyn asked.

"No, I've looked everywhere!" Emily shook her head.

"Evelyn, did you see it yesterday at noon?" At that moment, Charlotte turned to Evelyn and asked.
