"I heard from the fourth brother that you're not working now," Audrey said. "You should focus on resting at home. It's better for you and the baby. And the fourth brother can concentrate on his work too."
"I'm fine at work," Evie replied. "But Alexander worries about me running back and forth. My belly is getting bigger now, and it's inconvenient. I think I don't need to rush to work. I'd better take care of myself and quit. But staying home all day is boring. I've been learning to knit a scarf these past two days." She looked a little embarrassed.
"Learning to knit a scarf?" Audrey was surprised.
"Yes, I'm just learning. It helps pass the time."
"I can teach you. I'm good at knitting sweaters, socks, and gloves!"
"Really?" Evie asked happily.
"There are several patterns and colors. I used to knit sweaters for your second brother-in-law."
"I'll learn from you then, second sister." Evie smiled.
"It's not too late. Just tell me when you want to learn. I'll teach you."
"Okay, thank you, second sister."
"We're family. No need to be polite." Audrey glanced at her.
Evie laughed, a little embarrassed.
Audrey offered Evie some fruit. Evie ate a few seedless grapes.
She didn't really like fruit. But her second sister was very enthusiastic. She felt a little touched.
"Evie, how are things with you these days?" Audrey hesitated before asking.
"Alexander is very good to me. Why do you ask, second sister?" Evie looked at her with puzzled eyes.
"Nothing. I just think it's hard for him to worry about the family business all day."
"He's used to it. It's better when he's used to it."
"Well." Audrey nodded.
"Second sister, is there something you want to tell me?" Evie took out a tissue and wiped her mouth. She looked at her second sister.
"Nothing. I just wanted to chat with you. You know about the family division a while ago, right?"
"Alexander mentioned it. But he didn't go into detail." Evie answered cautiously.
"Did the fourth brother tell you about me and Scarlett?" Audrey asked again.
"What about it?" Evie looked at her.
"Nothing special. Just about the division. Do you think it was good for our family to separate?" Audrey looked at Evie.
"I don't know the details. I just think a family should be together. Of course, separation might have its advantages. Second sister, as you know, I haven't been married to Alexander for long. I don't know much about the family. Honestly, I can't say if it's good or bad." Evie answered carefully.
Audrey looked at Evie and smiled. She didn't refute her words.
She thought this sister-in-law was simple and lovely. But listening to her now, although she seemed simple, she didn't reveal anything.
She said a lot, but in fact, she said nothing.
"I don't like being separated. It's always livelier when a family is together." Audrey said at that moment.
"I think so too." Evie nodded.
Just then, Evie's phone rang. It was from Sterling Manor. It must be Lily Thompson. She had finished cleaning downstairs and didn't see her. She was looking for her.
Evie picked up the phone. She told Lily that she was sitting with her second sister. She would go back later.
She hung up and explained to her second sister.
"Lily is looking for me."
"Lily is a hardworking, responsible, and likable maid. She has worked in our family for many years." Audrey nodded.
"Yes. She said she came to take care of the family when she was nineteen. It's been a few years now." Evie agreed.
"Did she find her family?"
"I don't know. I didn't ask her that question." Evie shook her head.
"She's a lovely girl. I don't know what type she likes. If she wants to find a family, I can help her pay attention."
"Okay. I'll go back and find a chance to ask her. Then I'll tell you, second sister."
Audrey nodded with a smile.
They sat for a while.
"Second sister, I've been out for a while. I need to go down and see my sister-in-law. It's almost time to go back."
"Stay for dinner."
"No, no. Lily has stewed some soup. She's waiting for me to drink it. Second sister, come over to Sterling Manor when you have time."
"Okay." Audrey said with a smile, seeing Evie out.
Evie walked out of Audrey's villa. She saw Lily waiting outside.
Lily politely greeted Audrey.
Audrey nodded and continued talking to Evie.
"Evie, come and sit with me when you have time."
"Okay, second sister. I'll go back now. Goodbye."
"Goodbye."
After greeting her second sister, Evie and Lily went back together.
Audrey looked at Evie's back and sighed.
Her future with Scarlett was uncertain. She didn't know what to do next.
Looking at Evie's reaction just now, it seemed she didn't know about her and Scarlett's situation. She wasn't sure if Evie was pretending too well and not showing it, or if she really didn't know.

Evie followed Lily back.
"Lily, why are you here?"
"I don't feel comfortable with you coming here alone, madam." Lily answered.
"I'm at home. I'm not going anywhere. You're making a fuss." Evie said with a smile.
"Madam, the fourth young master told me that I must follow you when you go out. As long as you leave Sterling Manor, I must follow." Lily answered quietly.
"I know you care about me, so you follow me all the time. You were busy just now. I thought I would just walk around the house. I didn't go out the door, so I didn't tell you." Evie felt her words just now were inappropriate, so she explained.
After all, Lily would only do this if she was conscientious.
"Madam, don't blame me for being too talkative. You'd better not get too close to Miss Audrey and Miss Scarlett at this time." Lily quietly reminded her.
"What's the matter?" Evie stopped and looked at Lily.
