Fifteen minutes later, Victoria drove up to Sterling Manor.
Evelyn got into the passenger seat and buckled her seatbelt.
“What’s wrong with you?” Victoria asked, studying her face.
“I went to a company today. Someone told me I was pregnant!” Evelyn turned to answer.
“What?” Victoria turned her head again, looking Evelyn up and down. Where did she look like a pregnant woman?
“I don’t think so. And I haven’t had my period this month.
But that person is supposedly a master of traditional Chinese medicine. I think it’s better to get checked and be sure!” Evelyn said.
“Oh, let’s go get a checkup. Whether you are or not, we’ll feel better knowing!” Victoria agreed.
“Yeah!” Evelyn nodded.
They arrived at the hospital. Since it was after hours, they had to go to the emergency department. Luckily, the pregnancy test process wasn’t complicated. They just took blood for the test.
The results shocked both Evelyn and Victoria so much they couldn’t speak.
Evelyn was really pregnant. Almost two months.
“But my period was normal last month!” Evelyn said in dismay.
The doctor explained that some women have a special constitution. There’s no abnormal reaction in early pregnancy. It’s easy to ignore. It’s also possible it wasn’t a real period. Her body deficiency and some symptoms of a threatened miscarriage could be mistaken for a period.
Then the doctor prescribed some progesterone. She told Evelyn to take it. For the first three months, she had to supplement progesterone, take calcium properly, and watch her diet.
Evelyn thanked the doctor and walked out of the hospital with her sister Victoria.
“Sister, I’m really pregnant!” Evelyn said excitedly, hugging Victoria.
“Don’t jump! You just got pregnant!” Victoria quickly held Evelyn down and reminded her.
“Oh, right. No strenuous exercise!” Evelyn suddenly calmed down.
“I’m really defeated by you. You’re right. You didn’t even know you were pregnant. You’d only confirm it when the baby was born!” Victoria held Evelyn’s arm. She was afraid Evelyn would walk unsteadily. She didn’t forget to lecture her.
“Didn’t you hear the doctor say I have a special constitution?” Evelyn explained.
“Abnormal is classified as special, okay!
You’re obviously careless.
Maybe your aunt didn’t come last month.” Victoria rolled her eyes and answered.
“Yeah, maybe it was a sign of a miscarriage,” Evelyn muttered in frustration.
“Anyway, you need to take better care of yourself. The first three months are very important.
The doctor also said it will be relatively stable after three months!” Victoria replied.
There was no sign of bleeding!
After all, Evelyn had been looking forward to her baby for so long. She couldn’t scare her. If she scared her, the consequences would be serious!
“Go home and tell Alexander tonight. He’ll be too happy to sleep!” Victoria said with a smile.
“I can’t sleep myself first!” Evelyn followed with a smile.
“You’d better get some good rest. If you don’t rest, the baby needs enough sleep!” Victoria replied.
“Isn’t he sleeping in my stomach all the time?”
“Who said that? It’s better to exercise. But now it’s too small. You probably don’t feel the movement!” Victoria responded firmly.
Evelyn smiled and nodded.
She really didn’t have any strange feeling. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have ignored it.
Victoria dropped Evelyn back at Sterling Manor and went home.
Before she left, she told Evelyn not to do any more strenuous exercise. Walk on foot. Don’t jump. And that kind of exercise doesn’t work!
Evelyn blurted out, “What kind of exercise?”
The next second, she was stared down by her sister.
Well, she just didn’t react.
“Sister, I know, I know. You can rest assured!” Evelyn replied with a smile.
On the contrary, her sister was too wordy.
Victoria didn’t say any more. She told her to be careful and went home first.
After taking a bath, Evelyn sat on the sofa, waiting for Alexander to come back. When she thought about her pregnancy, she got excited.
Well, maybe it was because she had been disappointed before. She hadn’t been pregnant.
Last month, she thought she was pregnant. As a result, her aunt came. Nothing happened. She was a little disappointed.
Now she was sure she was really pregnant. She was so excited. She just wanted to let Alexander know the good news as soon as he came back.
Unfortunately, Alexander worked overtime today. She didn’t know when he would be back.
She wanted to tell her mother-in-law to make her happy.

So she didn’t go to the main house to tell her mother-in-law the good news.

Evelyn couldn’t help laughing. She felt she had a tendency to be silly.
They say you get dumber after three years of pregnancy. It seemed she was going to be even more stupid now.
Alexander didn’t come back. Evelyn was a little hungry, so she had dinner first.

Evelyn finished her dinner, but Alexander still hadn’t come back.
She curled up on the sofa in the bedroom. She was a little sleepy. Then she unconsciously fell asleep.
She didn’t know when Alexander would come back.
Evelyn was woken up by a phone ringing. She turned to look at the sound source. She saw Alexander’s phone on the bedside table.
She heard the sound of water coming from the bathroom. Alexander was taking a bath. She thought if there was something urgent, the other party would call again later. So she didn’t care.
A few seconds after the ring stopped, it started ringing again.
It sounded very anxious.
Evelyn got up and walked over to pick up the phone. She thought of taking it to the bathroom for Alexander to answer first.
Seeing the call was from Owen, she picked it up.
“Hello—”
“Gray, come to the hospital quickly! Grace is dying!” Owen shouted anxiously on the other end of the phone.
“What happened?” Evelyn asked.
“Evelyn?” Owen was stunned for a moment. Then he said, “Evelyn, please let Gray listen to the phone!”
“He’s in the bath. Just a moment. I’ll take his phone to him!” Evelyn said. Then she quickly walked to the bathroom door and knocked. “Gray, it’s Owen’s call. It seems urgent!”
The bathroom door opened. Alexander came out and took the phone.
“Owen, what’s the matter?”
The next second, his eyebrows furrowed. He answered after a while.
“I’ll come right now!”
After Alexander hung up the phone, he lowered his head and explained to Evelyn.
“Grace is vomiting blood. She needs an immediate operation. Now she doesn’t want to enter the operating room. Owen asked me to come and see.”
“Should I go with you?” Evelyn asked.
Alexander looked at her and nodded.
“Come on. Let’s go.”
So Evelyn followed Alexander. They changed clothes in a hurry and went out together.
Along the way, Alexander drove a little fast. Evelyn was scared.
