After finishing his meal, Ethan deliberately chose a table near Evie. He sat down and waited for his uncle to finish cooking.
Evie looked up and saw Ethan. She couldn't help staring at him.
Ethan smiled back at her. His expression was full of provocation.
Evie pressed her lips together for a long time. Then she decided to ignore him.
Just then, Chloe turned her head and spotted Ethan. She nodded and smiled at him in greeting.
"Chloe, your hairstyle looks great today!" Ethan said with a grin.
"Really? I just learned how to do it!" Chloe replied, smiling.
"It suits you perfectly!" Ethan added.
Evie rolled her eyes internally. Ethan's mouth was like honey. He could charm anyone, even the devil himself!
"Ethan, would you like to join us?" Chloe invited.
"Is that alright?" Ethan asked, glancing at Evie. There was a hint of challenge in his eyes.
"Of course it is!" Ella said.
"Then I won't be polite!" Ethan picked up his plate and moved closer. He didn't sit at their table, but at the one right next to them.
Then he waved at Gray, who had just finished getting his food.
"Gray, over here!"
Gray glanced over. He walked over calmly, showing no special reaction.
"Mr. Sterling!" Chloe and Ella said in unison.
Evie kept her head down, eating. She hunched her body so low that she almost disappeared under the table.
Gray nodded lightly. He sat down across from Ethan and asked casually.
"I wasn't late this morning, was I?" Chloe said with a smile.
"Did you have any plans last night?" Ethan asked curiously.
"Mr. Sterling had a dinner party last night!" Chloe explained.
"Oh, how fun! When will our planning department have a group activity?" Ethan sighed.
"Isn't that something you can arrange anytime?" Gray asked.
"I've arranged activities before, but they weren't interested!" Ethan said, sounding dejected.
"What kind of activities did you arrange?" Evie asked curiously.
"Rock climbing, cycling!" Ethan replied.
Evie almost rolled her eyes again.
"If I were them, I wouldn't be interested either!"
"Rock climbing is so much fun! Don't you know it's one of my uncle's favorite sports?" Ethan said, looking at Evie with a smile.
Evie froze for a moment. Then she shot Ethan a glare. She pretended she hadn't heard him.
She remembered hearing that Gray liked outdoor activities. Rock climbing, diving, mountain climbing—things like that.
But she had only heard about it. She hadn't paid much attention. Besides, Gray had never taken her rock climbing. Over time, she had simply forgotten.
Gray didn't comment on any of this. He calmly peeled some shrimp. Then he placed the peeled shrimp onto Evie's plate.
Evie was used to this by now. She muttered under her breath.
"That's strange. I didn't see any shrimp when I was cooking just now!"
"Don't you know? Those are the shrimp Mr. Sterling specially provided!" Ethan said with a grin.
"Nonsense. They were just cooked and served," Gray scolded Ethan. Then he explained.
"Little aunt, let's go rock climbing this weekend!" Ethan invited.
"No, I'm not interested in rock climbing!" Evie replied directly. She didn't notice what Ethan had called her.
Chloe and Ella were both stunned. They forgot to eat.
"Chloe, Ella, why aren't you eating? Am I affecting your appetite by sitting here?" Ethan turned and said with a smile.
"Not at all! The food here today is quite rich!" Ella snapped back to reality and smiled.
"That's right. Only by capturing employees' stomachs can you capture their sense of belonging!" Ethan said with a smile.
"Who said that?" Evie asked curiously.
"Who else?" Ethan replied with a grin.
Evie had no choice but to think she had asked a stupid question. She lowered her head and continued eating.
When she bit into the shrimp, she suddenly froze. The next second, she turned her head and looked at Gray. Then she looked at the shrimp on her plate. Finally, her face turned bright red.
She didn't dare look at Chloe or Ella's reactions.
Gray didn't talk much. He ate quietly.
Evie thought Gray was actually a person with two personalities. When eating at home with her, he was almost a chatterbox. He could always liven up the atmosphere.
When they ate alone together, they would communicate. It was about half and half!
But when eating with others, he would become autistic. Unless it was necessary, he would think speaking was a waste of breath.
At this moment, they had been talking for a long time without hearing a word from him.
No wonder everyone was afraid of him. No wonder he was always out of the group.
Right now, Evie just wanted to die. As a living horse doctor, she kept her head down and ate. She planned to be an ostrich until the end.
But the noisy Ethan just couldn't leave her alone. He actually put his chopsticks into her plate. He took away her braised pork and muttered.
"Little aunt, your dishes look delicious!"
Evie almost impulsively grabbed her braised pork back. Then she replied.
"They are delicious, but I won't give them to you!"
"Why didn't you order some yourself?" Evie muttered bitterly.
"There was no braised pork when I was cooking," Ethan responded.
"Who told you to eat so late?"
"I was waiting for you, my little uncle!" Ethan said at last.
Evie glared at him fiercely. She didn't want to bother with a child anymore.
After finishing the last two bites, she didn't want to eat anymore!
Then she heard Gray ask.
"Why are you eating so little today?"
"No, I've eaten more than Chloe and everyone else!" Evie replied smoothly.
"You're still growing. Eat more!" Gray put more dishes onto her plate.
"..." Evie was already speechless. She was still growing!
She was a teenager!
Ethan was the one who was still growing!
The next second, she suddenly realized something. She turned to look at Gray like she had been electrocuted. Then, like a deflated ball, she collapsed.
She had no courage at all. She didn't dare look up at Chloe and Ella sitting opposite.
What was the rhythm of their uncle and nephew's harmony?
They were united against her.
