"It's fine, I hit it by accident!" Owen Clarke stammered.

Evelyn answered the phone. The line dropped earlier. I thought something happened to you. If everything's okay, we should get some rest too! Alexander Sterling said.

"What time are you resting now?" Owen Clarke looked at the time on his end and thought he misheard.

"The life of a married man is beyond the understanding of a single dog like you!" Alexander said.

"It must be great to be married!"

"It's not that great. Life just feels more full and regular!"

"Damn it, Gray, remember this. I don't want to get married. Don't think I can't find a wife!"

"It's not too late to prove it to me after you get married! It's fine, I'm hanging up!" Alexander finished and hung up before Owen could respond.

On the other end, Owen was so furious he almost jumped. He grabbed his phone and complained to Grace O'Sullivan.

After a moment, he realized something was off. He looked at her awkwardly and apologized, "I'm sorry!"

"It's okay!" she replied with a smile.

"You miss him, don't you?" Owen looked at Grace and asked directly.

"Yes, so what!" Grace didn't hide her feelings this time.

"Since you like him so much, why did you let go in the first place?" Owen stared at Grace and questioned.

"Some things can't be decided just by liking!" Grace said with a smile. Then she picked up her glass, clinked it with Owen's, and said, "Don't worry, I won't disturb their life."

"Grace, if you don't mind me saying this, it's true. Even if you wanted to disturb, you probably couldn't. Now Gray and Evelyn have a good relationship and a stable marriage! Besides, you know Gray's character better than I do. He never looks back!"

"I know. Since I chose to let go, I never expected him to turn back!" Grace finished and downed her glass of wine.

Owen looked at Grace quietly, understanding her even less.

He knew she hadn't let go of Alexander. She was still stubbornly holding on.

How could he not be another Grace O'Sullivan!

"Owen, you're the only one I can talk to. Other people might not understand my feelings! Sometimes, we give up something, not because we don't like it. It's because it doesn't fit! It's not meant for you, you know? No matter how good he is, if he doesn't belong to you, he doesn't!" Grace looked directly at Owen and said.

"I understand!" Owen nodded, feeling the same way.

"But you can't go on like this, can you?" Owen said. "Honestly, it's not fair to Gabriel!"

"Gabriel and I broke up!" Grace replied calmly.

She picked up the bottle and continued pouring.

"When did that happen?" Owen was surprised.

"Last month! Like you said, it wasn't fair to Gabriel!" Grace said with a faint smile.

"I said it wasn't fair, but I didn't mean for you to break up. I meant you should be responsible for your own feelings!" Owen replied, a bit frustrated.

"It was because I had to be responsible that I broke up. Owen, I can't forget Alexander."

"Since you can't forget, why did you start things with Gabriel in the first place?"

"I was lost. At that time, I was desperate to start over. But letting go of the past is really hard!" Grace said, lifting her glass and taking a sip.

"Then you can't just live in a daze like this!"

"I know. That's why I feel a bit sorry for going back home now!" Grace said and continued drinking.

"Don't drink too much!" Owen pressed down on her glass and advised.

"Don't worry, I won't get drunk!" Grace said with a smile, pulling Owen's hand away. "Owen, don't be like me. I'll only disappoint you!"

"Then stop liking Gray. You can't do that!"

"I want to, but I can't."

"If you can't, why are you trying to persuade me? Besides, there's nothing in this world that can't be done. It's just a matter of will. If you really want to let go, it's only a matter of time!" Owen looked at Grace and said nothing.

Grace looked into Owen's eyes. After a long time, she finally nodded and said, "You said the same thing!"

"But you just don't want to let go, do you?"

"This is our only memory!" Grace murmured.

"If you're together, these memories don't matter. If you're not together, these memories are even more useless. I don't know how to persuade you. Anyway, you can't figure it out yourself. It's useless for others to try!" Owen said irritably.

Then he poured himself a glass of wine and continued drinking.

Grace said nothing more and quietly drank her wine.

Some people are happy, and some people are sad.

Alexander was on a business trip. Evelyn had two days off over the weekend and had nothing to do. In the morning, she had breakfast with her mother-in-law. Later, she went for a walk in the garden. In the afternoon, she stayed at Rose Garden Villa and learned to make dumplings with her sister-in-law.

From the dumpling wrappers to the filling, Isabella Stark liked to make everything from scratch.

Ethan Sterling rarely stayed home. He was called by his mother to be an assistant and roll out the dumpling wrappers.

Evelyn was learning from her sister-in-law, trying to make the dumplings a certain way, but her dumplings never looked as good as her sister-in-law's.

Even Ethan couldn't help but look down and ask, "Evelyn, don't you do housework at home?"

"Who said that?" Evelyn looked up at Ethan and replied.

"Then why can't you even make dumplings?"

"Being able to do housework doesn't mean you can make dumplings!" Evelyn retorted.

"At least you should be handy. Look at the dumplings you make. They're all lumpy and uneven, just like dog chewed them!" Ethan said.

"Ethan, are you asking for a fight?" Evelyn glared at Ethan.

"Ethan, how are you talking to Evelyn!" Isabella looked up at her son and scolded him.

Evelyn felt embarrassed and stood up, "Sister-in-law, Ethan is just joking with me!"

"This kid has no manners. Your dumplings are very cute!" Isabella replied.

Ethan chuckled, then looked at Evelyn and mimicked, "Auntie, your dumplings are so cute!"

Evelyn was mortified. She wanted to say she was making dumplings, not toys!

"Sister-in-law, my dumplings might not look good, but they should taste good!"

"They're not ugly. They're very cute!" Isabella continued.

"Delicious? That's only because my mother's dumpling filling is good!"

"That's true. When I learn, I'll be able to make delicious dumplings myself!" Evelyn didn't refute Ethan's words this time. Instead, she nodded and agreed.

"They'll definitely be a lot worse than the dumplings my mother makes!"

"Haven't you heard that a famous teacher produces a good apprentice? If my sister-in-law's dumplings are so good, her apprentice won't be that bad!"

"That's not necessarily true." Evelyn stared at Ethan, not wanting to see eye to eye with him.

Evelyn shot Ethan a look.
