Evelyn finally stopped coughing. She glared at Alexander with resentment.

He patted her back. "Don't get so excited, darling," he said with a smile.

"It's not you getting hurt!" she snapped.

"I was wrong, my lady. Eat more."

"What did you just call me?" she asked again.

"My lady."

"No, the sentence before that. What did you call me?"

"What?" Alexander looked at her.

"You called me baby!" Evelyn stressed seriously.

"Yes, and you're still asking me about it!" he replied, feigning tears.

"No, why did you call me baby?" she asked curiously.

"I don't know. It just slipped out," he answered.

"Oh. I feel so small all of a sudden," she muttered.

"Do you like it? If you do, I can call you that from now on."

"Better not. It gives me a strange feeling," Evelyn said after a long pause, shaking her head.

"What kind of strange feeling?"

"Just... I'm not telling you!" She suddenly blushed.

If Alexander felt she couldn't be intimate with him, he would always tell her.

He looked at her and smiled. He didn't push her. He lowered his head and continued peeling the shrimp, dipping it in sauce, and placing it in her bowl.

Evelyn picked up the shrimp and bit into it hard. Anyone watching would think she was biting Alexander's flesh.

After a while, Alexander poured a glass of wine for himself and one for Evelyn.

She stared at his glass. "How can you drink? You can't drink and drive!"

"The driver will drive," he replied calmly.

"Oh," she answered quietly.

Then came a knock at the door.

Evelyn responded. The waiter opened the door and walked in with a huge bouquet of flowers. He approached Evelyn. "Mrs. Sterling, this was just delivered by the florist. It's from Mr. Sterling."

"Ah? Thank you!" Evelyn was surprised and thanked the waiter.

"You're welcome. I wish you happiness!" The waiter smiled and left the room.

Evelyn held the large bouquet. She looked at Alexander. "When did you order these?"

"When I got off work. I knew you were coming here for dinner, so I kept it low-key," he replied with a smile.

"Ha ha, I'm so happy. Thank you. I love them!" Evelyn said excitedly, looking at the flowers.

It wasn't that she had never received flowers before. But this time, it was a surprise.

She had thought Alexander was just making an excuse to celebrate their six-month marriage. She hadn't expected him to order flowers for her. She really liked them.

"My lady likes them," Alexander nodded.

Evelyn deeply inhaled the fragrance of the flowers. Then she carefully placed them on the locker. She would take them home after dinner.

She sat back down in her seat.

"Aren't you going to show it?" Alexander asked at that moment.

"Ah?" Evelyn looked at him blankly.

Alexander sighed. He thought about how dense Evelyn could be. It was really hard for him to enlighten her.

So he took the initiative.

He held her for a long time. Then he kissed her on the lips.

Evelyn's eyes widened at first. It took her a moment to understand.

She closed her eyes. She couldn't hide the smile on her face.

Alexander didn't mean to kiss deeply. After kissing her for a long time, he let go. After all, they were in an unfamiliar place. Some things were better kept low-key.

"Understand?" Alexander stared at her and asked.

Evelyn nodded.

"Consider it an IOU. We'll express ourselves properly at home," he said with a raised eyebrow.

"..." Evelyn suddenly felt a chill.

Dessert arrived. It was a cake with a unique shape.

Evelyn was surprised the restaurant could make such an exquisite cake.

"Boss, you could open a cake shop with this skill!" she marveled.

"I'm sorry, but this was specially sent by your husband. Our restaurant really can't make such a good cake. Please enjoy!" the boss replied with a smile, then left the room.

"You ordered it?" Evelyn turned to Alexander.

"Assistant Miller ordered it," he answered.

"Oh," Evelyn replied with a smile. "So it wasn't you who ordered it."

Even though she was full, seeing such a beautiful cake, she couldn't help eating another piece. "It's delicious. You should try it too," she recommended.

"You eat it. I don't like sweet things."

"Just a small piece. To wish us a happy marriage, a happy union, and a long life together," Evelyn forked a piece of cake, reached it to Alexander's mouth, and said.

Alexander slowly said, "And to have your son early."

After that, he ate the cake.

Evelyn was embarrassed for a long time. She pretended not to hear his words. She took back the small fork, lowered her head, and continued eating the cake.

Later, with more than half the cake left, Evelyn packed it up to take home. It could be a snack or her breakfast tomorrow.

When she went downstairs to pay the bill, Evelyn stood at the counter. She remembered she only had a little cash on her. She couldn't swipe her card here.

She was embarrassed.

"Boss, can I swipe my card now?" she asked awkwardly.

"It's already been taken care of," the boss replied with a smile.

"Yes, by whom?" Evelyn asked.

"Mr. Sterling took care of it," the boss explained.

"Oh, thank you," Evelyn answered and put her wallet away.

She didn't know when Alexander had come to pay. Did he have the power of separation?

Alexander was waiting for her at the door.

Evelyn put her wallet in her bag and walked over.

He naturally took her hand and led her out of the restaurant.

The boss saw them to the door and warmly said they were welcome to come again.

Evelyn turned her head and nodded with a smile. Then she followed Alexander into the car.

After the boss watched their car drive away, he stood for a long time before entering the restaurant.

At the counter, the cashier and the waiter were gossiping. "That man is so handsome!"

"He's handsome and has class!"

"His wife looks very young. She's also ordinary. A bit mismatched with him."

"You didn't see her take off her glasses. When I sent the flowers to the room, she wasn't wearing them. She looked good. She really looks very young!"

"You think she could be his mistress? After all, there are some pretty girls from the nearby school who do that kind of work."

"I don't know. It didn't look like it."

"Don't speak ill of your guests!" the boss came up and scolded them.

"We weren't saying bad things. Just gossiping for a while."

"It's okay to gossip once in a while. After all, it's rare for our restaurant to have a VIP patron!" the boss joined the gossip the next second.

"Boss?" the cashier and the waiter looked at him with gossip-filled faces.

"Do you know how much their car costs?"

"I don't know. What brand is it?"

"Actually, I don't know the brand either. Only that it's very expensive!" the boss replied with a smile.

The cashier and the waiter rolled their eyes in unison.
