"Let me go! I have to find my brother!"

Amelia White struggled and screamed, her eyes bloodshot as she glared at Christopher Martin.

But Christopher Martin refused to release her.

"Miss, if the CEO can't find his wife, he won't come out."

Christopher had worked for Liam Williams for so long. Though he knew some inside information, he understood the CEO well enough. Liam truly cared about his wife. Otherwise, he wouldn't have rushed back in without a second's hesitation.

"The whole place is on fire now. How can she escape? If you go in now, brother, won't you die? He's your boss. Are you just going to watch him die?"

Amelia's voice cracked with hysteria. Her words were harsh, but they were also true. Christopher's eyes darkened, but the next moment, his grip on Amelia only tightened. No matter how hard she struggled or how much she cursed him.

"Oh my God, why did my cousin go in? Isn't she afraid of making things worse?"

Isabella Miller wrapped a blanket around herself and sat in the ambulance with Emilia Clark. Emilia looked at Isabella's sorrowful eyes, which clearly hid something else. She couldn't help but sneer inwardly.

But she wouldn't show it. In fact, she had already started crying hot tears. She wept, pretending to worry about Isabella's situation. To outsiders, it seemed like Emma Johnson truly had two wonderful sisters who cared so much about her.

Elijah Clark had just signed a surgery contract with a patient's family and patiently explained the procedure to them. He returned to his office after gaining the family's trust. It was already noon. A colleague kindly brought him a meal. Elijah smiled gently and thanked him.

"By the way, you haven't seen the news yet, have you?"

His colleague, eating lunch in the office, suddenly asked after a few bites.

"What's the matter?"

Elijah asked casually.

"The news is reporting that during Pinnacle Corporation's year-end event, a warehouse caught fire unexpectedly. Many news outlets are covering it now. I don't know if the fire is under control. Our hospital just sent several ambulances."

As his colleague's voice trailed off, he saw the chopsticks slip from Elijah's hand. They rolled off the table and hit the floor, but Elijah didn't bother to pick them up. The colleague only saw a blur of white before Elijah vanished from his spot. By the time he came to his senses, Elijah was nowhere to be seen.

Smoke filled Liam Williams's eyes, but his dark gaze searched anxiously. He took the elevator to the eighth floor, but there was no sign of Emma Johnson. Where the hell was she?

Liam's eyes turned red, and his heart trembled uncontrollably. Suddenly, he noticed a door at the end of the corridor was closed. He stared at it. The next moment, he kicked the locked door open and rushed down the stairs. When he finally saw Emma at the entrance of the fourth-floor corridor, she was lying there, unconscious. Her face was covered with a thin layer of ash. Liam's chest tightened. He quickly took off his coat and draped it over her. His slender, beautiful fingers trembled as he reached out to check her breathing. Only when he felt her faint breath did his tightly clenched heart relax a little.

Unexpectedly, when he had gone to save Amelia, Emma was only separated from him by a single door. He remembered vaguely hearing a banging sound from the elevator before he carried Amelia inside. He had wanted to step out and check if someone was in the corridor. But Amelia was trembling all over, clinging to him and crying in fear.

Then the sound stopped, and he thought he must have imagined it. He closed the elevator door and took Amelia downstairs.

It was just a split-second decision, but it had nearly cost Emma her life. Liam carefully picked her up, as if holding a precious treasure. How much he regretted leaving her behind. Otherwise, she wouldn't have ended up in such a desperate situation.

Liam was filled with regret, wishing he could take her place and suffer for her.

A single crystal tear trembled at the corner of his obsidian-like eyes and slid down.

When Benjamin Williams saw the news, he immediately drove to Pinnacle Corporation. From a distance, he saw thick smoke rising from the building, almost reaching the sky. His heart pounded wildly. He remembered Amelia telling him she would attend her brother's year-end event today. He prayed nothing had happened to her.

With that thought, he stepped on the accelerator, and the car shot forward like an arrow. He didn't stop until he saw a row of fire trucks ahead. Benjamin almost stumbled out of the car, nearly falling to the ground in his haste. He pushed through the crowd to the front.

Hearing Amelia's cries, Benjamin felt a wave of calm.

"If you don't let me go now, I'll make you regret it." When Benjamin arrived, he saw Christopher holding Amelia's arms, preventing her from moving.

Amelia's eyes were as red as blood. When she spoke to Christopher, her voice was cold, like a forest Benjamin had never seen before. He was momentarily stunned but quickly approached her. "Amelia, thank God you're okay."

Benjamin saw that apart from some soot on her face, she was unharmed. He breathed a sigh of relief.

"Second brother, go in and drag big brother out. He's still inside."

When Amelia saw Benjamin, her eyes lit up. She looked at him hopefully and spoke.

"What? Big brother didn't come out? How is that possible?"

When Benjamin heard this, his peach blossom eyes widened in shock. Big brother was a former special forces soldier and an excellent captain. How could he not have come out after so long? Benjamin's heart began to worry again.

Even if he and his brother had a strained relationship, he didn't want his own blood to be buried in a sea of fire.

"He went in to save Emma Johnson. But Emma has been trapped in there for a long time. She's probably not going to make it. If big brother goes in, isn't he walking to his death?"

Amelia's tears fell again, making everyone uncomfortable. No one cared about how she referred to Emma at that moment. Benjamin's eyes narrowed. He thought, How could it be Emma again? Ever since she married into the Williams family, there had been no peace. First, she hurt Amelia, and now she wanted to hurt big brother?
