Chapter 359

"You think I'd divorce you over this?"

Liam Williams wrapped his arms tighter around Emma Johnson.

"But as long as I'm here, I won't let you get scarred. So that scenario doesn't even exist."

Emma was stunned by his response, then broke into a laugh. Only Liam could give such a commanding answer. It was precisely because he had that kind of power that even such a heartbreaking outcome was impossible.

Dr. Julian Moore arrived quickly. He froze when he saw the mark on Emma's face. If he hadn't known the president's character, he might have suspected it was the result of some violent act.

Still, he was genuinely curious about who had done this.

"Apply this ointment at least three times a day. The redness will fade in three days, and the scar will be gone in a week."

Dr. Moore took out his top-tier cream. Liam took it and began applying it to Emma's face.

After the doctor left, Liam told Emma to rest in the inner room.

"She's too reckless now. I thought losing her memory would make her better. But instead, she's become even more willful. I can't tolerate it anymore."

Liam thought about Amelia's excessive behavior and spoke with frustration.

Emma reached out and grabbed his hand. The cool touch made Liam look down at the woman lying on the bed.

"Forget it. I owe her. If it weren't for me, she wouldn't have fallen down those stairs and lost her memory. Don't pursue this. After all, she doesn't remember anything from before."

Emma couldn't say she wasn't angry. She wasn't a saint, and being misunderstood because of Amelia stung. But Amelia's memory loss had become a shadow in Emma's heart. Even if the incident wasn't directly her fault, and Amelia's fall wasn't her doing, everything was still tied to her. Every time she thought about it, she felt tormented.

So, in a way, she felt guilty.

Now, she could tolerate being slapped by Amelia.

After hearing Emma's words, Liam understood what was weighing on her heart. He sighed helplessly, but he still didn't decide to simply forgive Amelia.

That evening, he returned to Sunrise Manor alone.

"You're sending Amelia to a Swiss Restorative Clinic?"

Henry Williams was surprised to hear what Liam said.

"I had a thorough talk with Dr. Owen Jones. He recommended the Swiss Restorative Clinic. Apparently, their medical equipment and expertise are the best in the world. I think it would be very helpful for Amelia's memory recovery."

"But Amelia is in such a state right now. Can she really leave home? The coffee shop she's running is just starting to do well."

Henry felt something was off.

"Just send her for two months to see if it works. It's better to try than not to try at all."

Liam eventually convinced the old man.

"Still, it's up to Amelia to decide. If she doesn't want to go, we can't force her."

"I'll talk to her about it now. She'll agree."

After finishing his conversation with his father, Liam left the study.

"Big brother."

Amelia looked at Liam, her face full of unease. She sat with her head down, not knowing what to say.

"I've contacted a Swiss Restorative Clinic. It's very helpful for memory recovery. Pack your things. You're leaving the day after tomorrow."

"What?"

Amelia never expected Liam to say this to her.

"You'll go for two months and see how your recovery goes. If it doesn't work, I'll bring you back. You can rest assured you'll return within a year."

Liam's voice was cold. He wasn't discussing it with her—he was directly informing her.

"I know I was wrong. Brother, please don't treat me like this."

Tears streamed down Amelia's face. She looked pitiful. But Liam wasn't moved at all. He just looked at her meaningfully.

"Amelia, I know you've lost your memory and do many things like a child. Even though your sister-in-law chose to forgive, you were wrong in this matter. Not to mention that it wasn't true—even if it were, did you think taking it out on Emma would help me? This time, it's just two months away. The medical equipment there will be very helpful for your memory recovery."

After Liam said these words, Amelia knew there was no room for negotiation.

"If I tell Father, do you think he'd let you send me to Switzerland?" Amelia looked at Liam and said.

"If he knew you almost ruined your sister-in-law's face, I'm afraid he'd make you stay in Switzerland even longer. Although Father has loved you the most since childhood, don't forget that his tolerance for certain things is always zero."

He didn't need to spell it out. Amelia understood the meaning behind Liam's words. If Father knew what she had done to her sister-in-law, the rest of her life would be filled with disappointment.

That's why big brother was so sure she had no choice.

"Brother, you really care about your sister-in-law."

A smile suddenly curled at the corner of Amelia's mouth, mixed with too many complex emotions.

"Otherwise, I wouldn't have made her my wife."

"Is that so?"

Liam's words made Amelia suddenly smile bitterly. Soon, she compromised.

"Fine. I'll go to Switzerland. Brother, when I come back in two months, will you still talk to me?"

Amelia raised her head and looked at Liam with tears in her eyes.

"As long as you're still that sensible and clever sister."

That was Liam's answer—and his bottom line. Amelia nodded. Liam finally left, satisfied. When he closed the door, Amelia's face suddenly became expressionless. She raised her hand to wipe the tears from the corners of her eyes, and an endless coldness settled in her gaze.

Two months—right?

That's fine.

Then, she saw the corners of her mouth slowly curl into a sweet smile. But it seemed like sugar coated with poison. Beneath the sweetness lay deadly venom.

...

"You want Amelia to go to Switzerland?"

Hearing Liam's words, Emma looked at him in surprise.

"Yes. The Restorative Clinic there is excellent. I'm sending her for two months."
