When Emma Johnson and Liam Williams returned to Sunrise Manor, Amelia White made an announcement to everyone.
"You're going to open a coffee shop?"
Hearing Amelia's words, Benjamin Williams couldn't help asking. His expression was one of surprise. There had been no sign of this. No clue that Amelia had wanted to open a shop before. No wonder she had seemed so excited when she suddenly brought it up today.
"Yes. I don't want to stay idle at home all the time, like a useless person. But if I go out to work for others, you won't agree. So I've been thinking about it seriously these past few days. Opening a coffee shop is the most suitable option. Father, eldest brother, second brother, and sister-in-law, you'll support me, right?"
Amelia looked at them, her face full of hope.
Old Mr. Henry Williams said nothing, clearly weighing the feasibility of the matter. The funds for opening a coffee shop had never been his main concern. His only worry was Amelia's safety.
"Amelia, it's not impossible. But I'm still worried about you. Otherwise, why don't you come work at Las Vegas Entertainment City? That way, you won't get bored."
Benjamin said to Amelia uneasily.
"Second brother, I know that if I go to your place, you'll treat me like a child. But even though I've lost my memory, I'm not really a child. Are you going to keep me at home for the rest of my life? Am I supposed to hide from the outside world forever? You can protect me for a while, but not for a lifetime. No one knows if I'll ever get my memory back. I have to keep living. I really don't want to stay at home anymore."
Amelia's words were well-founded, and no one could refute her. After all, she had a point. Emma also knew that even if Amelia never recovered her memory, she would eventually have to go out and face the complicated world. She couldn't be a princess sheltered in a lighthouse, unaware of the hardships of life.
"Alright. I'll arrange for someone to help you. Let me know when you've chosen a location."
Liam broke the somewhat stiff and silent atmosphere, being the first to nod in agreement.
"Brother, how can you agree so easily? What if something happens to Amelia?"
Benjamin retorted with some displeasure.
"Amelia isn't a child. Since she wants to do this, why not support her?"
Facing Benjamin's displeasure, Liam said lightly. In the past, he hadn't let Amelia work in the company because he didn't want to remind Emma of Amelia's amnesia. But he also knew that keeping Amelia at home like this wasn't a good thing. It was rare for Amelia to propose opening a coffee shop herself. As long as she could be protected within their sphere of influence, he fully supported it.
"But big brother—"
When Benjamin wanted to continue arguing, old Mr. Henry Williams suddenly spoke up.
"Alright, that's the decision. Benjamin, listen to your elder brother. Amelia, since you like the idea, go ahead. I support you."
"Thank you, Father. Thank you, brothers. You're so good to me. I knew you loved me the most. As long as it's something I want to do, you'll support it."
Amelia said happily. Her face seemed to glow, making everyone who looked at her feel happy too.
Benjamin looked at Amelia's smiling face and wanted to say more, but he knew that whatever he said wouldn't change her decision to open a coffee shop. Forget it, as long as she was happy, he could only support her. He would just send a few more people to protect her.
But his mood was still very bad. Why couldn't Amelia see his worry? Couldn't she see him, only her elder brother?
When Liam and Benjamin were discussing the cooperation with the Silverdale entrepreneurs in the study, Benjamin's expression was a little impatient.
"Brother, I can make my own decisions about this. There are so many things in China that you need to worry about. Since you've given Las Vegas Entertainment City to me, you should trust me."
Liam was a little surprised. Benjamin would say these words to him. He didn't know why his tone had suddenly hardened.
"Do you really think you can handle this cooperative project well?"
He didn't show any anger because of Benjamin's attitude, but asked in a flat tone.
"Of course. In these past few days, the business of Las Vegas Entertainment City has been getting better and better. Isn't that the best proof?"
Benjamin said to Liam.
"Well, since that's what you think, you can handle it all yourself."
Liam's tone was still light.
"Brother, I'll pay for Amelia's coffee shop this time. It's none of your business."
Benjamin once again told Liam his decision.
"Fine."
Liam also replied happily. In the air, it unknowingly became a little cold.
...
"Amelia, why do you want to open a coffee shop?"
Emma and Amelia were walking in the back garden. Emma finally asked Amelia.
"Because big brother likes coffee. So when he's tired, he can come to my coffee shop and sit for a while. I've even chosen the location. It's right across from the Pinnacle Corporation building. I can walk there in a few minutes. Sister-in-law, when the coffee shop is finished, you have to come and sit often."
Amelia said in a light voice, and her answer surprised Emma. This made Emma feel that Amelia wasn't opening a coffee shop to train herself, but rather hoping to see Liam often.
For a moment, she even felt that the Amelia in front of her was the same woman who used to like to talk coldly with her. But looking at her pure and happy smile, she felt she was overthinking.
After all, Amelia always wanted to find more things to do, and opening a coffee shop would let her see her big brother. For Amelia, who had a brother complex, it should be a very normal thing.
How could she think so much?
Emma thought it was inappropriate.
...
"Emma, do you mean Miss Amelia is going to open a coffee shop near the company?"
At work the next day, Emma told Emilia Clark about Amelia's plan to open a coffee shop in the tea room. She thought Emilia would be happy to visit often. After all, she had always had a good impression of Amelia. Moreover, before Amelia lost her memory, she had always regarded Emilia as a friend.
What's more, Emilia had been able to enter the company so smoothly partly because of Amelia's help.
So she was the first to tell Emilia about it.
