Chapter 332

Sunday arrived quickly, and Liam Williams drove Emma Johnson back to Sunrise Manor.

The old man, Henry Williams, hadn't seen Emma in a while, so he immediately asked her to accompany him for a game of chess in his study. Amelia White happily took Liam's arm, a sweet smile blooming on her face.

"Brother, you haven't been home for days. I was thinking that if you didn't come back this week, I'd come find you myself."

Liam looked at Amelia helplessly.

"Amelia, you're not a child anymore. You can't always need someone by your side. It won't do you any good in the long run, you know?"

Amelia's face darkened slightly. She just couldn't bear to be apart from the handsome man in front of her. It was a pity he always treated her like a spoiled child, never as a woman the way he treated Emma.

Today, Benjamin Williams hadn't gone to Las Vegas Entertainment City but had stayed home instead.

Seeing Amelia constantly clinging to Liam, he felt uncomfortable. So he found a topic to discuss with Liam, diverting his attention.

"Brother, do you remember that entrepreneur with glasses we met when we went to Silverdale? I've been discussing a collaboration with him recently. I think he'd be a great partner. I wanted to talk to you about it."

Benjamin's words successfully piqued Liam's interest. He was also pleased that in just a few months, his younger brother had transformed from an idle gossip into a pragmatic businessman.

"Amelia, you can watch TV here. Let's go to the study and talk."

Liam got up from the sofa and spoke to Amelia in a gentle tone.

Although Amelia wanted to keep Liam by her side, she knew it would be too selfish to insist on staying with him. After all, he was discussing business with his second brother. That was more important than watching TV with her.

"Brother, second brother, go ahead. I'll prepare a lot of delicious food for lunch. I'll call you when it's ready."

Amelia flashed a very clever smile, then watched Liam and Benjamin head upstairs.

She had no interest in watching TV dramas, so she asked the maid to turn it off. She then went into the kitchen and began preparing a big lunch herself.

After all, old Henry Williams was getting on in years. After playing two games of chess with Emma, he felt a bit tired. Emma helped him to rest and then left the old man's study.

The maid, Charlotte Harris, told Emma that Liam was currently discussing company matters with the second young master. Emma didn't want to disturb him. She knew Liam was most serious when he was busy with work and hated being interrupted.

Smelling the aroma wafting from the kitchen, Emma couldn't help but approach. She saw Amelia standing in the kitchen wearing a cute watermelon-red apron, preparing lunch herself. Just looking at her back, she seemed like a professional chef.

At this moment, Amelia was clearly only eighteen years old, but her skills in slicing potatoes and scaling fish were surprisingly adept. Emma couldn't help but wonder when Amelia had started learning to cook. At eighteen, she was already so skilled. No wonder the food she cooked was always so delicious. It was truly comparable to the level of a Michelin chef.

Emma thought that as the eldest daughter-in-law of the Williams family, it was a bit unreasonable to just stand there watching Amelia cook while she did nothing. After thinking it over, she rolled up her sleeves and walked over to Amelia.

"Amelia, is there anything I can help you with?"

Emma thought that even if she couldn't cook, she was good at washing dishes and cleaning vegetables.

Amelia was surprised to see Emma in the kitchen. After a moment of stunned silence, a slow smile spread across her face.

"No, sister-in-law, I can handle it myself."

Amelia's voice was clear and sweet. It made everyone feel like a spring breeze. Although Emma wanted to help, the other party didn't need her. She had no choice but to leave the kitchen. Otherwise, she would only make things more chaotic.

Emma remembered a dress she had left here. She planned to wear it to work tomorrow, so she went upstairs to look for it. Shortly after, Liam and his younger brother finished their business and came downstairs ahead of schedule.

They walked to the kitchen and saw Amelia busy inside, a faint smile in their eyes.

Amelia sensed someone outside the kitchen and turned her head to see the two brothers. Her eyes lit up, and she blossomed into a sweet smile.

"Brother, second brother, you're done talking business. By the way, have you seen my sister-in-law?"

"No, isn't she playing chess with Father in his study?" Benjamin replied to Amelia.

"No. My sister-in-law came to the kitchen for a moment earlier. I wanted her to help me wash the dishes, but when I looked back, she seemed to have left again. If you don't see her, I'll ask another servant to help me."

Amelia's voice was clear and bright. She then called a maid not far away and asked her to come in and wash the dishes.

After hearing Amelia's words, Benjamin's handsome face darkened. He looked at Liam with a sarcastic smile.

"Brother, it seems you really spoil your wife. Even when she has time, she refuses to help Amelia in the kitchen. I don't know, one would think she's the precious daughter of some noble family. But even if we were young ladies, we wouldn't be so pampered."

"Benjamin, remember that she is your sister-in-law."

Liam spoke lightly, but the tone of reproach was unmistakable. With a cold snort, Benjamin rolled up his sleeves and went into the kitchen to help Amelia wash the dishes.

Instead of going in, Liam turned and went upstairs. He pushed open the bedroom door and saw Emma rummaging through the clothes in the closet.

"You're done."

"Yes. What are you doing?"

"Looking for a dress I left here. I'm going to wear it to work tomorrow."

"It's just a dress. Let the maid come and help you find it."

Liam called for Charlotte. After all, she was the one who arranged Emma's clothes. Soon, she found the dress Emma was looking for.

"Are we eating soon? Don't say it, but I'm really hungry."

Emma put on her dress and said to Liam with a smile.

"Amelia is still preparing. I'm afraid it will take some time."

"Well. Then I'll go to the bathroom and brush my hair first. I've been rummaging through my clothes and my hair is a bit messy."

Emma turned and walked to the bathroom. She didn't see the man standing behind her by the door, looking at her with a dark, helpless gaze.
