Chapter 327

Liam Williams prepared a Western-style breakfast this morning, packed with nutrition.

Emma Johnson couldn't help eating a bit more, but Liam quickly stopped her.

"You forgot why you couldn't sleep last night. Eat lightly for the next couple of days."

Seeing the serious look on Liam's face, Emma felt a wave of frustration. Was he going to control her meals now? How pathetic was that?

Watching her sulk with her head down, Liam found her oddly cute. He held back for a long time, resisting the urge to ruffle her neat hair.

After arriving at the company, Liam asked the Executive Secretariat to buy a box of digestive tea and bring it to his office. The secretary had no idea why, but Emma already felt deeply embarrassed. She thought Liam was being too cruel. Back when her arm was injured, he hadn't cared about her at all—hadn't even asked what happened.

But now, just because she ate too much, he was acting like she had a serious illness. Did the contrast have to be so stark?

At noon, Emma wanted to eat in the cafeteria, but Liam stopped her.

"You don't need to go to the cafeteria anymore. From now on, have lunch with me outside."

What?

Emma stared at Liam's cool expression, wondering what game he was playing now. She was completely confused by him.

"Amelia doesn't bring lunch at noon anymore."

"I told her to stop starting today."

"I don't think she'll listen."

Emma thought that whether it was Amelia before her amnesia or after, once she set her mind to something, she stuck with it until the end. She even had a never-say-die spirit. These past few days, Amelia had been happily delivering meals. It wasn't that Liam telling her not to come would actually stop her.

"Why, don't you believe me?"

A hint of displeasure flickered in Liam's eyes. He didn't tell Emma that he had lied to Amelia. And he never liked Amelia coming to the company anyway.

Because he noticed that every time Amelia showed up, Emma's expression would darken a little. Maybe it reminded her of the conflict with Amelia at the company that led to her coma and amnesia.

So until Amelia's memory returned, Liam planned to keep her away from the office.

Emma didn't dare argue with Liam. She had no choice but to agree. So the employees who had been waiting for Emma to appear in the cafeteria at noon found that on the day the president's wife didn't show up, they felt a little out of sorts.

Everyone guessed that the president's wife had truly regained the president's favor. Even though the scandal had happened a while ago, she still managed to hold her ground.

This made the people in the Strategic Planning Department—who had once opposed Emma—restless all noon. But they thought that although Emma was serious in meetings, she was still a decent person in private.

They decided not to make a big deal out of it.

Emilia Clark originally planned to have lunch with Emma as usual, but Emma told her she would be eating out with Liam. A hint of disappointment flickered in Emilia's eyes, but she quickly put on a happy face.

"That's great, Emma. You have no idea what people in the company have been saying about you lately. Now they'll have to watch their mouths again."

Even though Emma hadn't directly heard what the employees said, the way they looked at her usually gave her a good idea of what they thought behind her back.

Honestly, she didn't care much. It was strange not to be talked about in her position.

Liam took her to a new Italian restaurant called Bella Vita. As Emma ate the spaghetti the waiter served, she subconsciously thought of the pasta Elijah Clark had taken her to eat in Milano.

"I wonder when I can go to Milano again. There was a restaurant there that served the most authentic spaghetti. If you could go too, I'd take you to try it."

Emma didn't think much of it. She said it with a smile on her face.

Seeing the smile on her face, Liam didn't expect her to say that to him. He thought she wouldn't want to tell him anything about Italy.

But today, she said it so naturally, even telling him she would take him to taste the most authentic spaghetti. He didn't know why, but it felt like a long-term promise. Yet in Liam's heart, he began to look forward to it.

"Okay."

He looked at Emma, and the corner of his mouth curled into a smile. Deep and gentle.

After lunch, Emma and Liam returned to the company. In the afternoon, she went to a jewelry store called Celestial Gems. There were only three days left until the winter clothing conference, and the news coverage was already sufficient. Since Isabella Miller was going to wear Milan Fashion House's clothes that day, she needed matching jewelry.

So Emma went to a famous jewelry store and borrowed a set of diamond jewelry worth thirty million dollars.

This way, Isabella would be able to showcase the nobility and magnificence that the Milan Fashion House brand represented.

"Emma, this set of jewelry is so expensive. I could never afford this in my lifetime," Emilia said as she accompanied Emma to the store. When she saw the jewelry, she was stunned.

"Don't think like that. Maybe in a few years, you'll have one too."

Emma asked the clerk to put the jewelry away and agreed to pick it up in three days. Then she said to Emilia with a smile.

"That would be great. Then I wouldn't have to worry about paying off my debts every day."

The two women left the jewelry store while chatting. Instead of returning to the company immediately, Emma went to the Metropolitan Convention Center. She had been going there whenever she had time these days to check on things with the staff.

After all, this was a large-scale press conference, and Emma absolutely couldn't allow any mistakes or accidents.

After final confirmation, she and Emilia returned to the company. It was almost time to get off work.

Liam drove Emma home. When they passed by a fruit shop, she wanted to eat strawberries again. She had clearly forgotten the pain caused by the indigestion last night.

Liam was helpless. Although he bought some, he didn't buy as many as last night. When they ate in the evening, he strictly controlled Emma, only letting her have a few. Emma glared at him, accusing him of tyranny with her eyes. She felt like the most pitiful person in the world, unable to even enjoy a strawberry in peace.
