Chapter 11

Liam Williams leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to Emma Johnson's forehead before finally releasing her from beneath him.

It was unbelievable.

Emma stared at Liam, her eyes wide. The moment he let her go, she scrambled up and bolted toward the door.

Liam hadn't expected her to still be so skittish and unwilling to give in. He just sat on the bed, watching her race for the exit.

Finally escaping the devil's clutches, Emma could barely contain her excitement. She hurried to the door and yanked it open—only to freeze in shock.

"Oh my God, Mom? Dad?" Emma gasped.

Her parents were standing right outside, clearly eavesdropping. Their ears had been practically pressed against the door. What kind of rhythm was this? Were they hoping for some action?

Sophia Johnson and James Johnson never expected to get caught. They stared at Emma with awkward smiles. "Uh... well... haha, sweetie, your father and I weren't trying to eavesdrop. It's just that the soup was too salty tonight, so we got up for some water. Right, dear?"

Sophia's mind worked fast, quickly coming up with an excuse.

"Yes, yes. I thought the food was too salty too, and I was really thirsty..."

A classic case of the husband echoing the wife. Emma felt like crying. "Dad, Mom, are you being serious? Your ears were right on the door. Did you... did you hear everything just now?"

This was mortifying.

Couldn't they just stay in bed and sleep at night like normal people?

"No, no, not at all. Sweetie, you go ahead. We didn't hear a thing. Just pretend we're not here. You two are newlyweds—you should go at it hard. But if you want some privacy, we can always go visit your uncle's place." Sophia's words were on a completely different wavelength from Emma's.

What? Go at it hard? You didn't hear anything?

If you're going to lie like that, at least make it believable.

Emma rolled her eyes dramatically, then turned around and slammed the door shut. She was about to lose her mind!

Turning back helplessly, Emma felt utterly defeated. Why was she so unlucky to have parents like this?

Looking up, she found Liam watching her with a smug expression. "Ha ha ha, wife, I find your family very entertaining. So? Still thinking about running? What are you standing there for? Why don't you take a shower? You only have three minutes. Need my help?"

With that, Liam made a move to get out of bed.

Emma immediately shook her head. "No, no, no, no! I'll do it myself." She hurried into the bathroom.

"I could really help, you know, wife. It might be faster." Liam raised an eyebrow, a mischievous smile playing on his lips.

His expression disgusted her.

Threat. It was definitely a threat.

Emma walked past him angrily, gritting her teeth. "Thanks for the offer, but no thanks."

Watching her obediently disappear into the bathroom, Liam lay back on the bed, bored, and pulled out his phone to browse the news.

But then...

Five minutes passed. She still hadn't come out. Liam frowned slightly.

Ten minutes passed. The sound of water could be heard inside.

Fifteen minutes passed. Emma still hadn't emerged.

Thirty minutes passed. Still no movement.

Liam was getting impatient. He checked the time on his phone. It was almost eleven o'clock. He frowned again. What was this little girl up to now? Was she pulling some kind of stunt?

Inside the bathroom, Emma slowly took off her clothes and turned on the hot water, letting the droplets hit her fair, delicate skin.

The thought of spending the entire night in the same room with Liam made her nervous.

Emma felt like she was going crazy. What was happening? How did she end up feeling like she'd been sold and was counting the money for someone else?

As time dragged on, Emma finished her bath, but she was terrified to go out. She was afraid that if she stepped out, it would be a disaster.

Thinking about how she couldn't beat Liam in a fight, she felt helpless. He was a man, she was a woman, alone in the same room... Dry wood and fire? Crackling?!

Ah, spit! How could she think like that!

Emma suddenly snapped out of her daze. She reached for the bathrobe hanging by the bathroom door, but the floor was too slippery. She lost her footing. "Ah..." With a scream, she fell spectacularly to the ground.

Yes, she fell! And she was completely naked!

Outside the door, Liam was absently scrolling through his phone, occasionally glancing toward the bathroom.

Taking a bath for this long?

Well, it was a good thing. It meant she was cleaning up properly.

A smirk tugged at Liam's lips as his mind filled with inappropriate images.

Just as he was lost in thought, he suddenly heard a scream from the bathroom. "Ah..." followed by the sound of a fall.

Liam's heart skipped a beat. Without thinking, he threw open the bathroom door.

The scene inside was... beautiful.

Well, no.

It was too tempting, too stunning.

When Liam opened the door, he was frozen in place.

To be honest, he'd been in the military for over a decade. He'd seen plenty of grand scenes and women.

But he'd never seen a sight as breathtaking and detailed as this.

At that moment, Emma was barefoot, half-lying on the ground. Her fair face was flushed scarlet, and her innocent, tear-filled eyes looked up at him pitifully.

"Ah... Liam Williams, you despicable, shameless bastard! Haven't you seen enough?" Emma was so ashamed she felt like she was going insane. Ignoring the sharp pain in her foot, she covered her chest with her hands, terrified that he would see her body. After a moment, she realized that wasn't enough, so she moved her hands down to cover her most private area. But what about her top?

"At this point, you might as well cover your face." Liam's annoying voice rang out, laced with a wicked smile.

Was covering her face really going to help at this moment?

Tears of anger streamed down Emma's face. "You bastard! Don't look! Turn around..."

Liam was speechless.

If he turned around, was she planning to lie on the floor all night?

Looking at her tear-filled eyes, Liam said gently, "What are you crying for? You saw my body earlier. It's only fair. Now we're even, aren't we?"

As he spoke, his gaze lingered on her beautiful figure, and a certain part of his body began to stir.
