Chapter 483

Aria was sorting things in the storage room when her phone rang.

“Aria, your phone is ringing!” Hannah Moore called out.

“Got it!” Aria replied, getting up and stepping out of the storage room to grab her phone.

The ringing had already stopped. The missed call was from Emma Sterling.

Aria paused for a moment, then realized who Emma Sterling was. She called back.

Soon, Emma’s voice came through the line.

“Sister Aria, do you remember me? It’s Emma.”

“Of course I remember!” Aria answered with a smile.

“That’s good. I was worried you might have forgotten me when I called earlier! Sister Aria, are you busy right now?”

“Not really. I’m just tidying up. What’s up?”

“I was wondering if you’re free tonight. Could you hang out with me?”

“Sure, but I’m not sure if I’ll have to work overtime tonight,” Aria replied.

“Then let’s wait until you’re sure you don’t have to work late!”

“Okay, I’ll text you before four this afternoon, alright?”

“Alright, Sister Aria, you go ahead and finish your work,” Emma said on the other end.

“Okay, I’ll be in touch this afternoon!”

After hanging up with Emma, Aria put her phone back in the drawer and returned to the storage room to continue sorting.

Even though she had only met Emma once, she left a strong impression. She was a beautiful, sweet girl, not at all spoiled or bratty. She was genuinely lovely.

It was clear she had been raised well. She grew up in a warm family. You could see it in her clear eyes and bright smile.

Honestly, Aria envied Emma. She had a warm family, parents and brothers who loved her. Everything was harmonious and full of warmth.

After she got married, Aria vowed to create that same warm family atmosphere for her own children.

Aria thought about this and couldn’t help but smile and shake her head. She was thinking too far ahead!

She calmed down and got back to work.

In the afternoon, Aria got so busy she forgot to text Emma. She didn’t remember until she was about to leave work. So she called Emma instead.

“Emma, I’m so sorry. I got busy this afternoon and forgot to send you a message!”

“Sister Aria, I just came downstairs to find you!” Emma’s voice came from the other end.

Aria was stunned for a moment, then replied awkwardly, “Okay, Vice President.”

“Emma’s phone is with me.”

“Oh, it’s fine. I just wanted to tell her I don’t have to work overtime tonight!”

“She just came down to see you.”

“I see her now! Thank you.” Aria saw Emma poking her head in at the door. She waved at her and spoke into the phone.

“I’ll take good care of her tonight.”

“No need to thank me. I like her a lot too.”

There was a brief silence on the line. Just as Aria was about to say goodbye, she heard the Vice President sigh.

“I don’t know what to do with you,” he said.

Aria was taken aback.

Then she heard him continue, “You can talk to Emma for me.”

“Okay, thank you, Vice President!” Aria hung up, feeling a little flustered.

The next second, she remembered Emma was waiting. She quickly put down her phone and invited her in to sit.

“I’m sorry, I got so busy this afternoon I completely forgot.”

“It’s okay. My brother said you were very busy!” Emma replied, not bothered at all.

“I’m not this busy every day. Just today was hectic. What would you like to drink? Coffee or tea?” Aria asked.

“Sister Aria, don’t bother. I just came down to see you. Do you have to work overtime tonight?”

“No, I can leave soon.”

“That’s great! We can go shopping directly after this. My brother is always worried I’ll get lost. He never lets me go out alone. He can be such a pain sometimes,” Emma complained.

Aria couldn’t help but laugh.

She never expected Emma to think of her brother like that!

“He loves you.”

“I know, but he’s way too controlling. I really hope he finds a girlfriend soon, so he won’t have time to boss me around.” Emma looked at Aria and smiled.

Aria’s face turned red at Emma’s words.

It was just a normal sentence, but she couldn’t help overthinking it.

“Let me pack up my things, and then I’ll be off work,” Aria said, changing the subject.

She cleaned up her desk, turned off her computer, and took her bag out of the drawer.

“My bag is still in my brother’s office. I’ll go up and get it!”

“Let’s meet in the lobby downstairs.”

“Okay!” Emma agreed, then left the administrative office.

Just then, Hannah Moore returned to the office. She looked at Emma’s retreating figure and said, “I’m not wrong, was that the chairman’s daughter?”

“Yes,” Aria answered.

“What did she come to our office for?” Hannah asked curiously.

“She wanted to talk to me about something,” Aria replied. “Sister Hannah, I’m heading off now. See you tomorrow!”

“See you tomorrow!” Hannah said.

She thought to herself, how did the chairman’s daughter get so close to Aria? Could it be true that Aria had something going on with the Vice President?

Hannah turned her head and took another look at Aria as she walked out of the office. She wasn’t sure.

After coming downstairs, Aria waited for Emma in the company lobby.

Soon, Emma came down.

She walked over, naturally took Aria’s arm, and said, “Sister Aria, should we eat first and then go shopping? Or shop for a while and then eat?”

“I’m fine with either. If you’re hungry, we’ll eat first. Or we can shop and see what looks good to eat,” Aria replied.

“Let’s shop first! The car is waiting outside!” Emma smiled, took Aria’s arm, and they walked out of the lobby.

They went straight to the square. Aria didn’t need to buy anything. She was just there to keep Emma company.

Emma had a lot to buy. She had thought of a gift for almost everyone in her family. She asked Aria to help her choose.

Aria thought Emma was truly a sweet girl. Everyone liked her. It was no wonder her family treated her like a treasure.

After shopping for over an hour, Emma said they should eat first, or she wouldn’t have the energy to keep going.

So they went upstairs to find food. They finally sat down by the window in a nicely decorated restaurant.

While looking at the menu, they discussed which dishes were good.

In the end, they ordered three dishes and one soup.

After handing the menu back to the waiter, Emma rested her chin on her hand and said to Aria, “My eldest brother can’t eat spicy food. Eating with him is the most boring thing ever. My second brother is much more easygoing. Whatever I want to eat, he’ll follow me. Once, I wanted to eat durian. My eldest brother said it stank so much he wouldn’t let me eat it. So I went to the supermarket with my second brother and ate it in the car. The next day, when my eldest brother was driving, he said, ‘Did we eat shit in the car yesterday?’”
