Chapter 411

Alexander Sterling came home from work. He went upstairs and saw Evelyn pacing slowly in the living room.

“What’s wrong?” Alexander walked over and asked.

“I’m stuffed!” Evelyn replied. “Iris Hart is coming. Did you know?”

“Iris Hart is coming?” Alexander looked surprised.

“Yes, she arrived this afternoon! Lily Thompson just accompanied her to meet my mother!” Evelyn said.

“She told me she was coming. I thought she would call me when she got here.”

“I already told Iris Hart that next time she visits, she must call you first. You can send someone to pick her up. Iris Hart is old now. We need to be careful.” Evelyn continued.

“Iris Hart must be very happy to hear that. I married a good daughter-in-law!” Alexander said with a smile.

Evelyn glanced at Alexander and didn’t respond.

“How was your afternoon with Charlotte?” Alexander asked.

“It was great. But I’m still full from when I got back. Iris Hart made sesame oil chicken. She wanted me to eat a lot. I’m still stuffed now.” Evelyn sighed.

“Too full? Don’t walk around. I’ll find you some digestive tablets!” Alexander said. He put his briefcase in the study and went downstairs to find the medicine cabinet.

He came back up with the tablets shortly after.

Evelyn took one and kept standing. She just leaned against the window. She didn’t want to move.

She planned to go downstairs and hold her son when she felt better.

“Did Iris Hart say anything?”

“She told me to eat more. She said she’ll make more supplements for the baby in the future. That’s all!” Evelyn summarized.

“Did you see our son? Did you say he looks like me?” Alexander asked.

“Yes!” Evelyn replied.

My son looks like me. That sentence had almost become Alexander’s mantra now.

“That’s all my wife’s credit!”

“...” Evelyn stared at him for a long time and didn’t respond.

Iris Hart came back. It was clear that Alexander’s relationship with Iris Hart was better than with his own mother. Now they were sitting in the living room, talking and laughing.

Evelyn was holding the baby and feeding him.

“Mr. Sterling and Iris Hart have a very good relationship!” the monthly nurse said with a smile.

“Yes, Iris Hart took care of Alexander when he was young!” Evelyn said.

“No wonder they’re so close.”

Evelyn nodded with a smile and didn’t say much.

After Evelyn fed the baby, she handed him to the nurse and walked out of the nursery.

Seeing that the coffee table was empty, Evelyn went into the kitchen. She brewed a pot of flower tea. She brought out some snacks and placed them on the coffee table.

Then she sat down. She poured a cup of flower tea for Iris Hart and Alexander.

“Alexander, you married a good daughter-in-law. Seeing you two together with the baby, Iris Hart is very happy!” Iris Hart said, looking at them with a smile.

“Yes, Iris Hart. I’m very lucky to have a good daughter-in-law!” Alexander put his arm around Evelyn’s shoulder, echoing Iris Hart’s words.

“Live a good life, you two. It will be even better to have more brothers and sisters for the baby in the future!”

“Iris Hart, please help me persuade Evelyn to have more brothers and sisters for the baby. Right now, she doesn’t want another one!” Alexander said with a smile.

Although he said it to Iris Hart, it was actually meant for Evelyn.

Evelyn secretly glared at Alexander.

“Evelyn just gave birth. Of course, she’s scared. You have to give her some time.

No matter how much you like children, you have to wait until Evelyn has fully recovered before you think about it!” But Iris Hart didn’t follow Alexander’s words. Instead, she scolded him.

“Iris Hart’s lesson is well taken. We should focus on building our love as a couple now!” Alexander said with a smile.

Evelyn rolled her eyes. She was speechless.

Later, Iris Hart said she would cook some snacks for Evelyn. She told Alexander to keep Evelyn company.

“Iris Hart, I’m not hungry. Don’t bother.” Evelyn said quickly.

“If you’re not hungry, eat a little. You don’t like seafood. I’ll cook some crabs for you and Alexander in a bit!” Iris Hart said and walked into the kitchen.

Evelyn looked away. She almost instinctively met Alexander’s eyes. She lowered her head and avoided his gaze.

“Evelyn, you see. Even Iris Hart says we are the most suitable couple!”

“You didn’t tell Iris Hart about us, did you?” Evelyn asked, avoiding the main issue.

“Iris Hart’s health isn’t good. If I tell her now that you want to divorce me, do you think she would faint?” Alexander asked Evelyn.

Evelyn stared at Alexander blankly. When did he become so roguish?

“You tell Iris Hart!” Evelyn was stunned for a long time before she replied.

“Alright. Wait until Iris Hart finishes cooking the crabs. I’ll tell her I was abandoned by you!” Alexander sighed.

Evelyn looked at him calmly.

“You’re acting!”

“Yes. Maybe I should cry when I tell Iris Hart about it. Then she’ll believe me more!”

“What a pity you didn’t become an actor!” Evelyn couldn’t help rolling her eyes.

“How do you know the club I joined in school was the drama club!”

“...” Evelyn was finally completely unable to respond to a single word from Alexander.

Iris Hart finished cooking the crabs. She came out and told them to eat.

“Iris Hart, there’s something I want to tell you—” Alexander stood up!

“What is it?” Iris Hart looked at Alexander, waiting for him to speak.

“Iris Hart, Alexander said he loves the crabs you cook the most!” Evelyn said quickly.

“Then eat more!” Iris Hart said with a smile.

Alexander turned his head and looked at Evelyn. Evelyn glared at him fiercely, then dragged him into the dining room.

“Take your time. I’ll go rest and come back to clean up later!”

“Iris Hart, are you feeling unwell again?” Alexander asked.

“No. I’ll just take some medicine!” Iris Hart was about to say she was fine, but she saw Alexander winking at her. She was a little confused, but she changed her words.

“Iris Hart, should we let the doctor come and take a look?” Evelyn said uneasily.

“It’s fine. You eat!” Iris Hart said and walked out of the dining room.

A long time passed.

After washing his hands, Alexander sat down at the table and began to eat the crabs.

He seemed to have conjured up a set of crab-eating tools.

He took a crab and started picking the meat.

He picked the crab meat onto a plate. Then he placed it in front of Evelyn.

“I don’t need your help. I’ll eat by myself!”

“Don’t waste Iris Hart’s kindness.

You know I’m allergic to crabs!” Alexander coaxed.

“You’re allergic to crabs?” Evelyn almost thought she had heard wrong.
