At first, when she found out she was pregnant, she was really nervous. Plus, the doctor mentioned it might be a sign of a miscarriage. That scared her a bit.
Now, she’s more used to it. She has no pregnancy symptoms. Sometimes she even forgets she’s pregnant.
So overall, even though she’s an expectant mother, aside from feeling sleepy, there’s nothing special about her. She’s considered a relaxed pregnant woman.
“That’s good. Now you don’t have to worry about anything. Just focus on taking care of yourself and the baby, okay?” Eleanor Sterling said with a smile.
“Yeah, I’m not thinking about anything now. I’m just concentrating on the baby.” Evelyn Vance nodded with a smile.
“Take care of yourself too. You need to eat more. You don’t look any heavier!” Amelia Vance said.
“Eating more is important. People say it’s better to nourish the baby before birth. If you take good care of yourself now, you’ll be healthy when the time comes.”
“Mom, I know. I’ll try my best to eat more.”
Eleanor Sterling nodded with satisfaction.
The mother-in-law and daughter-in-law mostly talked about the baby and family matters. They didn’t mention the separation of assets.
Evelyn felt relieved. She was actually afraid her mother-in-law would ask about the separation. She didn’t know how to answer that well.
Luckily, her mother-in-law didn’t bring it up.
After dinner, Eleanor Sterling asked Chloe Ward to escort Evelyn back to Sterling Manor.
Along the way, Chloe carefully supported Evelyn.
“Chloe, I’m not that fragile. You don’t have to hold me all the time.” Evelyn said with a wry smile.
“Young madam, the streetlights are a bit dim. I’m afraid you might not see clearly. It wouldn’t be good if you tripped.” Chloe replied.
“No, I’m wearing glasses. Just walk slowly. If you hold me like this, I don’t know how to walk.”
“Oh, young madam, be careful. Walk slowly.” Chloe let go of Evelyn.

“Chloe, has the old lady been eating better lately?”
“She has a better appetite than when she was discharged from the hospital.” Chloe answered.

“The doctor advised her to have two small meals in the evening. Don’t eat too much at once. So the old lady only eats a little each time.” Chloe explained.
“I see. That’s fine.” Evelyn nodded.
“Young madam, you are the one who cares about the old lady the most. More than the second or third young miss.”
“Chloe, don’t say things like that in the future. It’s not good if people hear you. I’m the old lady’s daughter-in-law. It’s only right to care about her.” Evelyn reminded her.
“Young madam, I was too talkative. Thank you for reminding me.” Chloe replied.
As soon as the young lady reminded her, she realized they were outside. If someone overheard and told the second or third young miss, it would be bad.

She was worried her mother-in-law was too upset because of the separation.

“It’s okay. You can go back. Lily Thompson is here. Don’t worry.”
“Okay, young madam. After you go inside, I’ll head back to the main house.” Chloe nodded.
Evelyn couldn’t persuade Chloe otherwise, so she had to enter Sterling Manor first. Chloe watched the young lady go inside, then turned and walked back to the main house.
After returning to the main house, Chloe talked with the old lady. She said the young lady truly cared about her. Just now, she had told her to make sure the old lady relaxed and watched her blood pressure.
Eleanor Sterling nodded with a smile.
“It’s hard for the child to have such a heart.”
“Old lady, don’t think I’m talking too much. I really think the daughter-in-law you chose for the fourth young master is top-notch.” Chloe boasted.
“Do I need you to tell me that? If she wasn’t good, would Gray have seen her?” Eleanor Sterling glanced at Chloe and said.
Although she said that, she couldn’t hide the smile on her face.
“That’s true.” Chloe nodded with a smile.
Eleanor Sterling laughed again.
“Now that Evelyn is pregnant, I don’t have to worry about anything. I’m just waiting to hold a big, fat grandson.”
“One this year, one next year. You’ll have one in your arms.” Chloe smiled and agreed.
It was a good time for the old lady to be so distracted.
Evelyn, after taking a bath, curled up on the sofa and made a phone call.
The call was from her mother, Amelia Vance. She asked if she had any special feelings, if she wanted to eat anything.
Evelyn replied with a smile that she didn’t feel anything.
“Pregnant, how can you feel nothing? Don’t you want to vomit?” Amelia asked on the other end of the phone.
“No. I don’t think there’s anything special, except I can sleep better than before. Oh, by the way, it feels like there are bubbles around my stomach these days.” Evelyn thought for a long time and answered.
“What bubbles?” Amelia was confused by her daughter.
“It’s like a fish spitting bubbles. I don’t feel it very often. Occasionally, I don’t know if it’s my imagination.” Evelyn explained.
“That’s the baby moving.”
“So small? Can he move?”
“Isn’t that obvious? He’s developing all the time now. Your stomach will get bigger and bigger. When he’s six or seven months old, he’ll move a lot. It’ll be like he’s doing somersaults in your stomach.”
“No way. How can he turn over when my stomach is so small?” Evelyn asked curiously and happily.
“Of course he can. He’s like swimming in the amniotic fluid, moving around, kicking and punching. Anyway, it’s very interesting. You used to be so active in my stomach. The doctor said the fetal movement frequency was too high, so I had to take oxygen. I spent a lot of money on oxygen alone.” Amelia rambled on.

She used to think this little girl was a handful.
Evelyn had a good time talking with her mother. The topic went from the baby to her childhood and later years. Her mother told her she had been on the phone for too long and should hang up quickly. Phone radiation was bad for the baby.
But if she didn’t hang up quickly, her mother would have to say goodbye and hang up first.
When Alexander Sterling came back from work, Evelyn excitedly told him about her childhood.
Alexander answered with a smile.
“Our baby shouldn’t be like you.”
