Chapter 274

Everyone groaned.

Ella Baker laughed.

She wanted to ask President Sterling the same thing. What was his relationship with Evie?

But then she thought, if they weren’t in a proper relationship, asking that question might ruin her own future.

Don’t joke with your career.

“It’s not my personal decision,” Alexander Sterling said with a smile. “When the company votes on the trip, you can choose the route you want.”

“Right, Ella, you wasted a great opportunity!” Chloe Parker sighed.

“It’s fine. It’s not like it’s the only chance to play,” Ella replied.

Because Alexander lost, he had to answer Ella’s question. Even though his answer was basically the same as saying nothing, she was the one who asked first. So he couldn’t be blamed.

This round started with Alexander.

He thought for a moment and said, “It’s Evie’s turn.”

Evie said, “So it is!”

“Is that an idiom?” someone doubted.

“Yeah, it doesn’t sound like one,” someone else immediately agreed.

“Isn’t it an idiom?” Evie asked, dismayed.

“Of course not!”

“Evie lost! I didn’t expect this round to end so fast!” someone said with a smile.

Evie was embarrassed. She turned to Alexander. “You asked for it!”

“It seems you get to choose the punishment, right?” Alexander replied with a smile.

“Yes, you can choose truth or dare!” Chloe Parker said with a smile.

“Evie, which one do you pick?” Alexander asked with great interest.

For the first time, he thought this boring game was actually quite fun.

“If I choose dare, will you mess with me?” Evie asked hesitantly.

“Evie, you’re stalling. You can only pick one so the game can continue!” someone reminded her.

“Then I’ll take the dare,” Evie said, taking a deep breath.

If she chose truth, and Alexander suddenly asked a question she couldn’t answer or didn’t want to answer, she’d be in trouble.

“Dare, huh?” Alexander said with a smile.

“Yes, dare,” Evie nodded firmly.

“How do you play the dare?” Alexander turned his head and asked.

“You make the other person do something they usually wouldn’t do or rarely do, but something exciting!” Grace Miller explained with a smile.

Evie immediately wanted to cry. She looked at Grace pleadingly.

She thought, Grace, do you have a grudge against me today?

Grace smiled innocently.

You can’t blame me. You have to blame your husband. He’s so cruel that we have to live in two places!

“This is a little interesting,” Alexander said with a smile. Then he turned to Evie and continued, “Evie, how about you confess to someone you like?”

Evie was stunned. She looked at Alexander.

Laughter erupted all around.

A few seconds later, Evie came back to her senses and asked, “Confess to the person I like, right?”

“Yes,” Alexander nodded.

“Good!” Evie answered cheerfully.

Then she picked up her phone and happily dialed her sister Victoria’s number.

When the phone connected, Evie began, “Sister, I really like you. You’re the best sister ever. Being your sister is one of the happiest things in my life!”

On the other end of the phone, Victoria was stunned. After a long pause, she said, “Evie, are you on something?”

“No, I just wanted to tell you, I really, really like you!”

“Weird,” Victoria said.

“Sister, I’m fine. Let’s talk later, okay?” Evie replied with a smile.

Then she hung up and looked up at everyone. “I’ve finished my task!”

“Evie, that doesn’t count,” Madison Campbell hesitated.

“It does count. President Sterling just said to confess to the person I like. There’s no limit on who that is. I met the requirements!” Evie said firmly.

“It really does meet the requirements,” Grace Miller said, acting as the referee.

Evie turned her head and looked at Alexander with a provocative look.

Alexander smiled and rubbed her head. This girl was very smart at the critical moment!

Evie was embarrassed. She quickly pulled his hand down and continued the game. “It’s my turn. Ha, my idiom is ‘over the moon’!”

Madison Campbell’s family member continued, “Over the moon!”

One by one, it went to Alexander. He actually managed to pick up an idiom— “Carry on the past and open up the future!”

Evie also successfully picked up an idiom— “Those who come come come first!”

They played round after round. By the end of the game, neither Evie nor Alexander lost again. In fact, Evie won twice.

It was the pace of revenge!

Everyone had a great time!

On the way back, Evie was still talking excitedly with Alexander about how fun the game was.

“When we get home, you have to make up for it,” Alexander said, cutting in.

“Make up for what?” Evie turned to him and asked.

“Your dare isn’t finished yet,” Alexander replied calmly.

“Yes it is. I confessed to my sister, didn’t I?” Evie immediately retorted.

“The target was your sister. Is that a confession?”

“Why not?”

“Go home and look up the definition of confession in the dictionary.”

“Evie immediately felt deflated. She muttered, “We’ll talk about it later!”

“Just make sure I’m satisfied,” Alexander added.

“Huh?” Evie stared at him blankly.

“Is there a problem?” Alexander looked down at her and asked.

“No problem!” Evie said, wanting to cry again.

Hmph. Confess to the person you like.

She had already called her sister and said she was sick. There was no way she was going to do that again!

Alexander made that request back then because he wanted her to confess to him in public.

Didn’t he know the person she liked was him?

Obviously, he was afraid the people in the company would find out about their relationship and embarrass her like this! It was too much!

Luckily, she was smart and didn’t fall for it. Otherwise, she would have been so embarrassed to tell him!

She was still an intern in the secretarial office. She didn’t want to mix things up!

And she was a person who held grudges and cared about everything. He asked her to finish it when she got home.

How naive!

Evie’s resentment was real, but she knew she had to do what she had to do when she got home.

So she sent a text message to her sister, explaining that she was playing truth or dare with her colleagues. She chose the dare, so she called her to confess.

Then, her sister Victoria called back immediately. “I knew you didn’t mean it. If you had nothing to say, you wouldn’t say those disgusting things to me. There must be some conspiracy. I was worried all night, wondering if something happened to you and saying those strange words to me was a sign or something! Evie, I’ve decided to break up with you for one night!” Victoria said angrily.
