"Oh!" Evelyn answered.
Charlotte felt embarrassed. What did that mean?
Alexander didn't say anything more. He just kept playing with Evelyn's hair.
Evelyn got goosebumps all over her body. After a while, she hesitated and said, "I used to have a crush on Noah before!"
"Really?" Alexander responded.
"Yeah, back in middle school, he had good grades and was good-looking. A lot of students liked him. Me included. But it was just a crush. Nothing happened between us. Later, Noah went abroad, so we lost touch. It wasn't until he came back last year that we reconnected!" Evelyn confessed.
"And now?" Alexander continued asking. His tone was still very calm, as if he was asking about something ordinary.
"Now what?" Evelyn asked, confused.
"Do you still feel the same way?"
"It's a little different. After all, we haven't seen each other for so many years. Everyone has grown and changed. And—"
"And what?"
"And I'm married now!" Evelyn said with a pout.
What she really wanted to say was that she liked him now!
But it was hard to say when he was being so cold!
"You mean if you weren't married now, you'd still feel the same way? Maybe you'd be together?"
"I don't know. If I still liked him, maybe I'd think about it!" Evelyn thought for a long time.
She turned around and saw Alexander. She suddenly snapped back to reality. Her face turned bright red.
"Like, like, like. Nothing! Write a review tonight!" Alexander said calmly.
"Huh?" Evelyn immediately stared at Alexander in shock.
"Review your past truancy. By the way, also review the fact that you're still in love with someone you used to have a crush on!"
"How can I do that? I don't have any feelings for him anymore. I was just answering your hypothetical question. Hypothetical things aren't real!" Evelyn responded angrily.
"It's not real, but since there's such a tendency, you should make a proper review."
"I didn't ask you to review what happened between you and Grace!" Evelyn protested.
"I haven't had anything to do with Grace for a long time!"
"I haven't had anything to do with Noah either!"
"You two met up and had dinner!"
"That's because..."
"Because of what?"
"We're just good friends!" Evelyn pouted and replied.
"If I met up with Grace and had dinner now, would you think we're just friends?"
"It's different. Grace is your first love. You were together. You had deep feelings. I just had a crush on Noah, and it was years ago. We didn't even have a relationship." Evelyn said gloomily.
"Do you really regret not being with Noah?"
"Of course not! You can't bully me just because you're good with words!" Evelyn finally got anxious. Her face turned red.
Alexander looked at Evelyn, who was so anxious she was turning red. He couldn't say anything because he was so anxious himself. The corner of his mouth almost lifted, but he held it back. He stared at Evelyn tightly and asked, "Okay, what do you want to review?"
"It's all in the past. There's nothing to review!" Evelyn lowered her head and said.
"Since it's in the past, there's nothing to review. What do you want me to review?"
"I didn't ask you to review anything!" Evelyn said, a little depressed.
"Is there any other problem?"
Evelyn looked up at Alexander, then shook her head blankly.
"If there's no problem, you can write the review now!"
"Huh?" Evelyn looked up at Alexander again and asked, "Why do I still have to write?"
"I didn't say you don't have to write. Besides, I just discussed your tangled problem with you. You also said I have nothing to review. In that case, shouldn't you finish your work?" Alexander calmly looked at Evelyn and asked.
Evelyn nodded a little.
She sat in front of the desk. One hand was holding her hair. The other was holding a pen. Her face was full of confusion.
Why was she writing a review?
She didn't do anything wrong!
Even if she used to like Noah, that was in the past!
What she liked now was Alexander!
Well, if she hadn't married Alexander, and Noah had asked her to wait for him for half a year last year, maybe she would have nodded and agreed.
It seemed like there were some signs of cheating.
As a result, Evelyn had to write a review. She started from the fact that she shouldn't have lingering feelings for someone she once had a crush on. After the review, it turned out she had no lingering feelings. She just said that if she wasn't married and still liked him, she might consider it! But the premise was that she wasn't married and still liked him. In fact, she was married, and the person she liked now was Alexander. She had nothing to do with Noah. There were no lingering feelings. Why should she review it!
So in the end, the review turned into a complaint.
She accused Alexander of bullying the weak. She accused Alexander of being unreasonable every time because of his eloquence. At this time, Alexander asked her to write a review and wouldn't let her take a bath and sleep. In the end, she didn't even know what she was accusing him of.
Anyway, she wrote two thousand words. Three pages.
Then she took it to Alexander. Without waiting for his response, she went straight into the bathroom to take a bath.
The driver sent Charlotte and Noah back to Charlotte's doorstep.
Noah told the driver to stop here. He let the family driver go back first.
"Do you want to stay at my place tonight?" Charlotte asked with a wry smile as Alexander's car drove away.
"Sit with me for a while!" Noah was clearly not in the mood to laugh with Charlotte. He just replied lightly.
"Oh!" Charlotte saw that Noah was a little depressed. She restrained herself and said with a smile, "Let's go to the small park and sit down!"
The two of them walked towards the small park in the neighborhood. They sat down on a wooden bench in the park.
"Noah, shouldn't I have asked you to come with me tonight?" Charlotte asked when she saw Noah.
"It's none of your business. We would have met sooner or later!" Noah said.
Charlotte lowered her head and said nothing.
Originally, she thought that if Noah saw Evelyn and Alexander happy together, he would give up!
Now she felt even more sad seeing Noah like this.
"I'm very happy to see Evelyn very happy!" Noah continued.
"Don't be hypocritical. I know you're suffering now!" Charlotte replied without looking at him.
"It really hurts. Because I wasn't the one who gave her this happiness!" Noah answered.
