Chapter 240

"It's not good to be half-hearted about it. Besides, Mom is right. We need to plan ahead if we want a baby. We have to take care of our bodies first. Then, when we're ready, it'll be done!" Evie's voice trailed off, and she was too embarrassed to continue.

Alexander kept teasing her. "It'll be done soon enough. Otherwise, when I take my son out, people will think I'm his grandfather!"

"How could that be?" Evie looked up and retorted.

"It's possible. I'm thirty now. I'll be old in a few years. I'll age even faster. My son will be so young then. People will definitely mistake me for his grandfather!" Alexander sighed.

Evie patted him on the arm. "You're getting more and more ridiculous. We'll have a baby soon. It's not like we're never having one!"

"You said soon! It might already be too late. Even if we work hard several times a night, we can't guarantee success in one night!" Alexander said, looking troubled.

"I'm not talking to you anymore!" Evie's face turned bright red. She turned her back to him and ignored him.

Alexander smiled and pulled her back into his arms. "Alright, don't worry. We'll just have to spend more time together. Don't let the baby thing stress you out!"

"I really do want a baby," Evie murmured.

"We'll think about it after a while. Didn't you say we need to recuperate? Let's rest for a period of time. Then we'll think about having a baby."

After hearing his words, an image of a plump, white pig popped into Evie's mind. The next second, she quickly shook her head to get rid of that terrible picture.

"If I don't want to wait, I'll have to work hard starting tonight! It seems I need to take good care of my body. Otherwise, I won't be able to keep up!" Alexander sighed dramatically.

"You're so annoying! I'm being serious with you, and you're talking nonsense!" Evie said, pretending to be angry.

Alexander laughed, his mood light. He wrapped his arm around Evie and walked into Sterling Manor.

"Piggy, I'm hungry!"

"You haven't had dinner yet?" Evie asked, looking at him with a hint of reproach.

"I ate a little. It wasn't enough. I drank a lot," Alexander replied.

"Go rest. I'll cook you some noodles!" Evie wrinkled her nose and headed into the kitchen.

Alexander was always picky about food. He couldn't get used to eating out. Plus, he had to drink at social events, so he barely ate anything. She wanted to blame him for not taking better care of himself, but she couldn't bring herself to say it. After all, sometimes he worked hard and had no choice.

Evie opened the refrigerator and looked at the ingredients. She decided to cook a bowl of egg noodles for him. Just as she placed the ingredients on the counter, she felt a tight grip around her waist. She was pulled back into Alexander's warm arms.

"Wait a minute. It'll be ready soon," Evie replied, peeling a clove of garlic.

Alexander hummed in response and kissed her neck. Evie felt a little ticklish. She shrank away for a moment but didn't try to escape. She figured he would stop bothering her after a while. Sometimes he was like a child. If you told him not to make trouble, he would only make it worse. If you left him alone, he would stop on his own. So Evie just let him do what he wanted.

But then his hands started to wander. Evie's face suddenly grew hot. She said in a low voice, "Alexander, stop it. Someone might see us!"

"There's no one else here now," Alexander replied calmly.

Evie resisted the urge to roll her eyes. She said awkwardly, "Don't mess around. I still need to cook the noodles!"

"Hmm," Alexander replied. He stopped moving, but he didn't let go.

"Let go!" Evie whispered. She needed to turn on the stove and cook the noodles. The next second, she was lifted up by Alexander.

"Alexander, what are you doing?"

"We'll cook the noodles later. Let's make a baby first!"

Evie was about to hit him on the head with the spatula in her hand. Make a baby! They should solve the problem of food and clothing first! She was still cooking noodles! But Alexander didn't listen to her. He carried her out of the kitchen. Helpless, Evie could only put the spatula down on the cabinet.

It was completely speechless.

In the end, the person who came downstairs to cook the noodles was not Evie, but Alexander. In a good mood, he even put on a pair of jeans. He hummed a tune while cooking his noodles. Meanwhile, Evie was lying on the bed, not wanting to move. She just thought Alexander had taken the wrong medicine tonight. More accurately, it was like he had taken an aphrodisiac that drove her crazy! Evie's face couldn't help but burn. She had to bury her face in the quilt.

Alexander cooked the noodles, took them upstairs, and placed them on the coffee table in the living room. Then he went into the bedroom to call Evie.

"Evie, come eat your noodles!"

"I don't want to eat!" Evie replied, still feeling annoyed.

"Then I'll bring them in and feed you," Alexander said with a smile.

Evie pulled down the quilt and glared at him.

"If you don't want to get up, I can feed you in bed," Alexander blinked and continued.

Evie finally understood what it meant to be shameless and invincible. She didn't doubt that Alexander would do what he said. If she didn't get up, he would bring the noodles to her in bed. So she glared at him angrily and got up. As soon as she opened the corner of the quilt, she realized she was naked. She quickly covered her body and urged him, "You go out first!"

"It's not like I haven't seen it before!" Alexander replied with a smile.

"Get out now!" Evie blushed and said angrily.

Alexander got up with a smile and walked towards the door, whistling. Evie was both angry and helpless.

When Evie came out of the bedroom, Alexander was leaning back on the sofa, his hands behind his head. He looked at her weakly and said, "Piggy, your husband is starving. If you didn't come out, your husband would have starved to death."

"Nonsense. It's your own fault!" She stopped halfway, realizing she couldn't continue that topic. So she changed the subject. "Why didn't you eat first?"

"My wife worked the hardest. I had to wait for my wife to come out and eat together."

"Hmph, I've never seen you treat me so well!" Evie sneered. She walked over, sat down beside him, and picked up the bowls and chopsticks to serve the noodles.

"I don't usually treat you well?" Alexander leaned over and asked her.

"I don't know! Eat your noodles as soon as possible!" Evie handed him the noodles and said.

"It seems I didn't do a good job tonight. Eat more. Then I'll have the strength to keep working hard!" Alexander said to himself.

Evie was speechless. She didn't want to pay any more attention to him.
