Charlotte Moore lit a cigarette and muttered, "Alexander Sterling isn't gay!"
So she wasn't the only one who had always misunderstood that.
"I know. Brother Alex got married at the end of last year. I meant I suspected it before! Wait, how do you know he isn't?"
"I... I..." Charlotte turned so red she couldn't speak.
"Oh, I see. You have a secret crush on Brother Alex. But you're out of luck. He's married. You can't be the other woman!" Charlie said.
"I wouldn't!" Charlotte protested.
"I didn't think you were that type either!" Charlie hugged Charlotte's shoulder and grinned.
"Want to grab a drink at the coffee shop next door later? Wait for me to get off work?" Charlotte asked.
"I'll just go upstairs with you. You keep working, and I'll hang out nearby!"
"No, you can wait in the reception room. I'm afraid you'll get bored!" Charlotte replied.
"Come on, I bet it involves company secrets. No admittance and all that. I'll wait at the coffee shop. Where is it?" Charlie shrugged.
"Just go out the gate and turn right." Charlotte smiled.
"Okay, then go to work. I'll wait for you at the coffee shop. By the way, what time do you get off?"
"Twelve o'clock!"
"Well, honey, don't keep me waiting too long!" Charlie said, winking.
"Haha, don't be so cheesy, okay?" Charlotte laughed.
"I can't help it. I miss you so much!" Charlotte got goosebumps.
Charlie gloated and turned to walk toward the lobby door.
Charlotte watched her walk out of the hall, then turned toward the elevator.
She needed to finish her work quickly so she could have lunch with Charlie at noon.
Charlotte was too busy to even go to the bathroom.
After work, she rushed to the coffee shop.
She had no doubt that if she was five minutes late, Charlie would come to her company to protest.
When she got to the coffee shop, before Charlie could speak, Charlotte said, "I need to go to the bathroom first!"
Then she put down her bag and headed straight for the restroom.
Charlie was suddenly speechless.

After using the bathroom, Charlotte returned to her seat, rang the bell, and said, "Let's have lunch here. They have set meals, both Chinese and Western."

She was tired of Western food. She only wanted Chinese food now that she was back.
"You're just an intern. How can you be so busy?" Charlie asked Charlotte after ordering.
"It's more complicated, so it's busier." Charlotte smiled.
"Aren't you interning in the secretarial department?"
"Yes, interning in the secretarial office."
"That's strange. You don't study finance. How can you intern in a secretarial office?"
"I don't know. That's how it was arranged after I was accepted. I couldn't handle it at first, but it's better now." Charlotte answered after taking a sip of water.
"But it's not easy to get an internship at Sterling Group. It doesn't matter which department you're assigned to!" Charlie said.
"That's true!" Charlotte nodded with a smile, then asked, "How long are you staying this time?"
"It depends. Half a month to a month!" Charlie replied.
"Then we'll go shopping together on the weekend!" Charlotte said excitedly.
"I've already figured out where to go. Can you take time off?" Charlie asked.
"Of course I can't. I'm in my internship period now!" Charlotte replied directly.
"Well, you're the greatest!" Charlie sighed, propping her chin on her hand.
Charlotte immediately laughed.
While they were eating their set meals, they chatted. Charlie said, "I haven't seen you for half a year. You've become a lot more beautiful and feminine!"
Charlotte was embarrassed, and her face turned red to the roots of her neck.
"I'm praising you. You don't have to get so excited that you blush!" Charlie laughed.
"What!" Charlotte said directly.
"If you didn't wear those smoky glasses, you'd be even more charming. Maybe one day you'll fascinate a domineering CEO!" Charlie said with a smile.
"You think too much!" Charlotte replied.
"Brother Alex is off the table. There's no hope. But there must be a lot of big bosses who have business dealings with him! Some of them must be unmarried and handsome! If you seize the opportunity, maybe you can really stage a show where the domineering CEO falls in love with me!" Charlie teased.
"I'll leave that opportunity for you!" Charlotte replied.
"Haha, my personality isn't suitable for a domineering CEO!"
"What is it suitable for?"
"A kept man!"
Charlotte was thunderstruck by Charlie's words.
"Listen to your nonsense!"
"By the way, I have some gossip about your boss. Are you interested?" Charlie said mysteriously.
"Our boss? Alexander Sterling?" Charlotte asked, stunned.
"Nonsense. Are there two bosses at Sterling Group?"
"There aren't two, but more accurately, the real big boss is Mrs. Sterling!" Charlotte replied with a smile.

"This meal is on you!" Charlie said directly.

Charlotte looked at Charlie blankly, thinking about the gossip regarding Alexander Sterling.
