“Sis, am I really that fat?” Evie sat up quickly and asked hesitantly.

“A little chubby, but not much!” Victoria nodded.

“Oh.”

“You’re not pregnant, are you?” Victoria pressed.

“Huh?” Evie’s eyes went wide. The next second, she blushed and waved her hands frantically. “No, no way!”

“Did you get checked?” Victoria asked.

“No, but I’m definitely not pregnant!” Evie insisted, shaking her head.

“How can you be so sure if you haven’t seen a doctor? Someone as clueless as you might not even know she’s pregnant!”

Evie was speechless for a long moment.

“I’d know my own body!”

“Don’t you want a baby?” Victoria teased.

“Alexander said we should enjoy being a couple for now. We’ll talk about kids in a couple of years!” Evie replied, embarrassed.

“Go away, stop flaunting your love in front of a single dog!” Victoria waved her hand and rolled her eyes.

“I’m not! I’m just telling the truth! Sis, haven’t you found anyone yet?” Evie couldn’t help but gossip.

“You can’t force fate like that! Your future brother-in-law probably hasn’t even been born yet!” Victoria sighed.

“How is that possible!” Evie said, her voice full of pity.

Her sister was in her twenties, and her future brother-in-law wasn’t even born yet. By the time he reached the legal marriage age, she’d be in her forties or fifties!

Evie thought it was hilarious.

She was so funny.

“Evie, call Alexander and ask if he wants to come for dinner. If he does, we’ll wait!” Amelia came upstairs and told Evie.

“Oh, he’s not here yet, so he must be busy. We don’t have to wait!” Evie muttered.

“I told you to call him, why are you still talking so much nonsense!” Amelia glared at Evie.

“Oh!” Evie replied slowly.

She had to call Alexander.

“Alexander—”

“Alexander, are you coming to my parents’ house for dinner? If you are, we’ll wait for you.” Evie asked with a smile.

“I’m on my way. You guys eat first, don’t wait for me!” Alexander explained.

“Oh, okay! Drive safe and be careful.” Evie agreed.

“Got it!” Alexander replied.

Evie hung up, turned to her mother, and said, “Mom, Alexander said not to wait for him. Let’s eat first!”

“Is he coming?” Amelia asked.

“He’s almost here!” Evie nodded.

“Then let’s wait for him to eat together!” Amelia said and turned to walk out of Evie’s room.

“Oh!” Evie said slowly.

She thought her mother was really good to her son-in-law, Alexander.

Sure enough, not long after, Alexander arrived, carrying fruit.

“You’re already here, why did you bring anything!” Amelia took it and said.

“I passed by a fruit stand and bought some!” Alexander said.

He looked up and saw Evie looking at him with a smile.

The corner of Alexander’s mouth also rose. He walked over, touched Evie’s head, and said, “You missed me that much?”

“No!” Evie took Alexander’s hand, held it, and said, “Saturday, and you’re working so late!”

“I went to play ball with them in the afternoon.” Alexander pulled Evie to sit down on the sofa.

“Oh!” Evie replied.

“When I called you, you said you were at your parents’ house, so I didn’t call you.”

“It’s okay, you just play. I don’t know them very well!” Evie shook her head with a smile.

“I’ll just practice a few more times.”

“Alexander is here!” Victoria came downstairs and greeted him.

“Just got here a while ago. Victoria, didn’t you go out to play today?” Alexander looked up and responded with a smile.

“I did, but your wife called me back!” Victoria walked over and laughed.

“No, she didn’t come back until seven!”

“Half past six!” Victoria stressed.

“Well, it was almost seven o’clock!” Evie muttered.

At that moment, Amelia came out of the dining room and said, “Time to eat!”

“Dad hasn’t come back yet?” Alexander asked.

“He has a dinner party with some old classmates tonight. He won’t be back for dinner, so we don’t have to wait for him!” Amelia said.

So the four of them had dinner first.

During the meal, everyone ate and joked, having a great time.

Evie felt that her parents were very satisfied with Alexander, and it wasn’t without reason.

Although he was born into the Sterling family and was now at the helm of the Sterling Group, he had no airs or dandyism. He joked, kept the atmosphere lively, was polite and modest, and could quickly blend into her family. He didn’t particularly dislike anything she did.

Now, on the other hand, in her home, he was still helping her.

Evie couldn’t help but turn her head and sneak a peek at Alexander. She thought she was really a blind cat that had stumbled upon a dead mouse!

Oh, wrong, it was a blind cat that had stumbled upon a good mouse!

That didn’t seem right either. Anyway, she had just picked up a treasure.

They settled down, had dinner, talked for a while, and ate some fruit before they went back.

On the way, Evie said to Alexander, “Alexander, would you like me to learn how to drive?”

“Do you want to learn?” Alexander turned to Evie and asked.

“Yes, but I didn’t dare to before.” Evie answered truthfully.

“What changed your mind now? Don’t you want me to pick you up?”

“No, it’s just that it’s more convenient for me to drive. I can drive my own car when I go to work or go back to my parents’ house. It’s more convenient!”

“If you want to learn, I have no objections. But I’m afraid you won’t drive well, and I’ll have to worry!” Alexander said.

“I’ll get better with practice! At first, I’ll just drive a little slower!” Evie agreed.

“If you really want to learn, let Grace sign you up!”

“Oh, good!” Evie nodded.

Alexander said nothing more.

After returning home, Evie came out of the bathroom after taking a bath and asked Alexander, “Alexander, do you think I’ve gained weight recently?”

Alexander looked up at Evie.

Evie suddenly blushed and began to fidget.

“You’re fat! Especially on top!” Alexander finally said.

Evie was speechless.

See where that was!

She walked to the bed with her head down.

“You don’t like fat?” Alexander asked.

“No, today my mom and my sister said I was fat! But a few days ago, I weighed myself and lost a pound!” Evie climbed onto the bed and said.

“Is the scale broken?” Alexander asked.

Evie immediately laughed, because Victoria had said the same thing.

“Is it true that I’m fat?”

“It’s better to be fat. It’s more comfortable to hold!”

“...” Evie was speechless.

She was like a pillow!

Maybe she was tired, but they went to bed early that evening.

Evie had made plans with them to go shopping on Sunday.

After dinner in the afternoon, she told Alexander and went out.

Evie arrived at the meeting place but didn’t see Emily or Stella.

She called Emily and said, “Are you there yet?”

“I’m just out the door. Wait for me at McDonald’s first.” Emily said apologetically on the other end of the phone.

“Okay, where’s Stella?” Evie asked.

“Wait until we meet!” Emily said.
