“The smoky gray one looks more professional than the white one. But you look amazing in that white suit. I still think it’s a great choice!” Emily Hart encouraged Evelyn to buy the white suit after watching her try it on.
Evelyn preferred the white one too. She could wear the smoky gray, but the white felt more her. It wouldn’t look so dull.
So Evelyn decided on the white suit.
After buying the suit, they headed to the cosmetics counter on the first floor.
Evelyn never wore makeup. She only used basic skincare products. Emily, however, knew a lot about it.
She helped Evelyn pick out a lipstick, eyeliner, BB cream, and blush.
She said that even if Evelyn didn’t wear makeup daily, she should put on some light makeup for work. It made her look more energetic. It was also a sign of professionalism.
Emily was always right. Evelyn couldn’t argue. So she bought the whole set.
But she still had no idea how to apply it!

Evelyn felt embarrassed. “Of course, it was because you were busy!”
“So you mean next time, if I’m not busy, you’ll come and say hello instead of running away?”

Alexander stroked her hair and looked at her with a smile.
“Stop it. Why do you have to call me out like that?” Evelyn finally said.
Alexander laughed. “I’m just so shameless!”
“No, I just feel a little embarrassed!” Evelyn said honestly.
“Okay, I’ll make it public when you graduate!” Alexander promised. Then he asked, “Are you going to my company for an interview?”
“Actually, my classmate wants to go. I’m just accompanying her.” Evelyn told the truth.
“You don’t really want to go?”
“I… I want to go too!” Evelyn said insincerely.
“Come on. If you lose the election, I’ll lose face when others find out you’re my wife!” Alexander said half-jokingly.
“Ah?” Evelyn immediately looked at him in shock. “But the competition is fierce! What if I lose?”
“What do you think?” Alexander smiled at her.

That was a good excuse!
