“Of course I remember!” Evelyn nodded.
Especially Grace. She was such a beautiful girl. Even back then, she looked like a girl. How could anyone forget her?
“The hot springs just opened. It’s still in the trial phase. There are hardly any people here. We can soak more comfortably,” Rory explained.
“I’ve never been to a hot spring before. This is so new!” Evelyn said with a smile.
“Really? What do you usually do to kill time?”
“Mostly I read books and study for exams. If I have time, I go shopping and grab something to eat.”
“You’re such a good girl. No wonder Mrs. Sterling likes you so much!” Rory took a long look at Evelyn and said.
Evelyn felt embarrassed. “It’s mainly because I haven’t seen much of the world!”
“That doesn’t matter. With Alexander by your side, what part of the world do you still need to see?” Rory smiled.
Evelyn nodded.
When they reached the meeting point, Rory honked at the white Maserati sports car in front, then drove forward.
Four people in two cars headed to the Butterfly Valley hot spring pool.
After meeting up, they greeted each other and went to change into their swimsuits.
They had booked a private pool at Butterfly Valley. It had its own changing room, bathroom, and a completely private hot spring pool.
It guaranteed quiet, privacy, and no outside interference.
Since Evelyn had never been to a hot spring before, she felt as curious as a country girl visiting a grand palace for the first time.
“Evelyn, is this your first time?” Grace asked her.
“Yes, it’s my first time soaking in a hot spring too. The scenery here is so beautiful!” Evelyn turned her head and smiled.
In front of her, Grace was wearing a bikini. Her figure was perfect—curves in all the right places. The kind of body people called a “devil’s figure.”
Evelyn looked at her with envy.
Then she looked down at herself.
Oh, forget it.
“It’s my first time here too!” Grace echoed.
“Really? Your boyfriend owns this hot spring club. And it’s your first time here?” Laila walked over and asked in surprise.
“I’ve been quite busy lately. I never had the chance to come,” Grace replied with a light smile.
No one said anything more. They started soaking.
They began with the low-temperature pool to prevent dizziness.
Evelyn was like a duck in water. At first, she was nervous. Later, she felt so curious that she couldn’t help playing with the water.
“Evelyn, can you swim?” Laila asked her.
“No! Can you all swim?” Evelyn turned to ask.
“No. Hasn’t Alexander taught you?” Rory asked with a smile. “He can do everything!”
“There hasn’t been a chance yet!” Evelyn replied.
“It’s okay. You can stay in the shallow water later,” Rory patted Evelyn’s shoulder and said.
Evelyn nodded.
She really couldn’t swim. Her sister Victoria had once taken her to a swimming pool. After she accidentally drowned, she never wanted to go again.
After she started university, Emily had tried to teach her several times. But she never learned. She could only play in the shallow water and watch them swim as happily as fish. She could only envy them.
After soaking in the low-temperature pool and getting used to it, they headed to the next pool.
There were medicinal baths, milk baths, fragrant baths, and fish therapy pools.
There were so many that Evelyn was dazzled and overwhelmed.
Before this, she always thought a hot spring was just a big pool where everyone crowded together, soaked for half an hour, sweated, and then got out.
She never expected there to be so many different pools with different functions!
When they reached the largest pool, they could both soak and swim at the same time.
They could also enjoy different massage methods from the water pressure.
Evelyn lay on the massage chair in the pool. The water rolled around her.
She felt like a shark in the waves.
Well, at most she was a small fish. But that didn’t affect her mood.
“Evelyn, is it fun?” Rory swam over and asked with a smile.
“It’s so much fun! I want to come again next time!” Evelyn nodded excitedly.
“Do you want to learn how to swim?”
“I’m stupid. I won’t learn it that fast!” Evelyn shook her head.
Besides, she didn’t want to trouble others.
“Then learn to hold your breath first. Once you can hold your breath, you can basically swim!” Rory encouraged her.
Then she demonstrated for Evelyn.
“It’s like this. Very simple!”
Evelyn tried to follow. It didn’t seem so difficult. She practiced a few times. Rory told her to let go of her hands. She could feel her body floating.
Evelyn tried it once. She really felt herself floating.
She got excited. She wanted to lift her head and say she could swim. But as soon as she lifted her head, she sank. Evelyn panicked. She opened her mouth and choked on water. Her hands flailed in the water. She couldn’t stand up.
Rory quickly pulled her up. Evelyn finally stood up. She coughed nonstop. It took a while before she could breathe again.
Rory patted Evelyn’s back. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine, I’m fine. I just accidentally choked!” Evelyn said awkwardly. Then she coughed again.
Grace and Laila swam over at that moment. They asked what happened.
“Evelyn was learning to swim. She accidentally choked on water!” Rory helped answer.
“Take your time. Don’t worry. I took a long time to learn too!” Grace encouraged Evelyn.
Evelyn nodded. “It seems Alexander taught you!” Rory nodded and said with a smile.
Grace shot Rory a look. Rory realized what she had just said. She felt a little embarrassed.
The atmosphere suddenly felt a bit tense.
Evelyn patted the water out of her ears. Then she lifted her head and asked, “What did you say?”
“Nothing. Don’t worry. You’ll learn to swim after more practice!” Grace encouraged with a smile.
“I don’t think it’s as hard as I used to think. A few more practices should make it better,” Evelyn smiled and nodded.
“You guys play. I’m going to get some water,” Grace said.
“I’ll come too!” Rory followed.
“Evelyn, just stay here. Don’t go to the deep end!”
“No, I haven’t learned to swim yet. I wouldn’t dare go there!” Evelyn said.
Rory and Grace climbed out of the pool. They took tea from the waiter’s hands and sat in chairs drinking.
“Rory, don’t mention the past between Alexander and me in front of Evelyn anymore,” Grace took a sip of tea and said lightly.
“I know. That was just a slip of the tongue just now. She shouldn’t know anything!” Rory replied.
“I know. It’s nothing. Alexander and I are in the past. But if she doesn’t know, it’s less awkward when we meet,” Grace said, looking at Evelyn playing in the pool.
“I really don’t understand why you broke up with Alexander back then. You two had such a good relationship!” Rory sighed.
“We broke up years ago. And you’re still gossiping! Stop it. I still want to fall in love with Gabriel.”
“Does Gabriel know about you and Alexander?”
“I don’t know. But my affair with Alexander is over. He knows nothing,” Grace replied calmly.
