The voluptuous woman had only asked casually, but even she, as clueless as she was, could detect the disdain dripping from Olivia's calm tone. At first glance, Ethan Davis's secretary was quite pretty. Was it really that hard to believe this little secretary might have her own designs on that piece of rich, fatty meat?
A flicker of displeasure crossed the woman's face.
"Do I need an appointment? Don't even bother asking. I'm always someone on your boss's side, you know. Is it really that difficult for a girl to get in to see him?"
"I really am new here, but I haven't heard your name mentioned. Besides, so many women come through here, and they all look the same. How am I supposed to recognize you?" Olivia Davis was famous for her sharp tongue. Running into such an affected woman, she felt the urge to put her in her place.
When the sexy woman heard this, the pride on her face vanished instantly. "You... Hmph, aren't you just a little secretary? I'll have President Ethan fire you later. We'll see if you still have a job then."
Just as she finished speaking, Ethan Davis's figure passed by Olivia's office. He glanced inside, a little surprised, and stepped back to the doorway. "Scarlett... why are you here?"
So, this woman's name was Scarlett?
Hearing a name that sounded like it belonged to a celebrity, Olivia sniffed, glanced at Ethan, and nodded. "Good morning, Mr. Davis."
When Scarlett saw Ethan, she looked as if she'd found her savior. Her arrogance melted away, replaced by a delicate, weak voice. "Ethan, there you are. Look at your little secretary. I wanted to see you, but she just wouldn't let me in..."
As she spoke, Scarlett reached for Ethan's arm, her voice turning syrupy. "Ethan, she wouldn't let me see you, and on top of that, she mocked me. She said you have so many women you wouldn't even know who I am. It's so humiliating."
Listening to this, Olivia felt goosebumps all over her body. Could this woman be any more fake and shameless?
She had simply asked a question. How was that mocking?
These green-tea bitches were really masters at twisting right and wrong.
Olivia stared at her for a long moment, then looked at Ethan. "Mr. Davis, I only asked if she had an appointment..." Olivia recounted honestly. What else could she say in this situation? She had to stick to the facts.
Then she shot a glance at Ethan. His face was expressionless, but his eyes were fixed on Scarlett's chest. It wasn't an exaggeration to say his eyes were practically glued to her!
Seeing Ethan's reaction, Scarlett doubled her efforts. "Ethan, I think she's tired of working at Pinnacle Corporation. You should fire her. Why keep such a boring employee around?"
"When did it become your business to worry about our company? Besides, I'm just a secretary. I'm responsible for my work, my clients, and my boss. As for a woman like you, with no clear origin, I'm being polite by not asking security to throw you out." Olivia had never let any woman get the better of her, and she wasn't about to start now. As she spoke, she exuded a powerful aura.
Ethan was stunned. He thought she would try to please Scarlett for his sake. Who knew... Instead, Olivia was using her venomous tongue to insult the other woman.
Scarlett, seeing she was outmatched verbally, delicately shook Ethan's arm. "Ethan, look... I'm not wrong. She's so arrogant. Why don't you just let her go right now?"
Olivia didn't think much of it. A green-tea whore like this? Hadn't she dealt with too many of them?
At first, she hadn't seen clearly. But now, looking closely, Scarlett wasn't even a proper green-tea whore. Her appearance was mediocre, with exaggerated, heavy makeup. The layer of powder on her face was thicker than a city wall, and her tiny black dress with a push-up bra made her look like a cheap seductress.
Ethan didn't speak. He just glanced at Scarlett, then stared at Olivia with keen interest.
Scarlett was just one of his many female companions. Of course, he wouldn't fire Olivia for her sake. But he really wanted to watch the show. Ethan just wanted to see how venomous his secretary could be.
When Scarlett saw he wasn't speaking, she grew anxious. "Ethan... do you have the heart to let this little bitch bully me?"
What?
She called me a little bitch?
Olivia had held back because of Ethan's presence, but now this was going too far, wasn't it?
"You'd better save it. Our boss has plenty of women like you. Do you think having a few pieces of meat on your body makes you special? Go look at any woman around him—do any of them have less meat than you? Does anyone flaunt it like you do? Do you honestly think any man in the world would marry a woman who exposes her chest every day? It's even more impossible for our boss. You're truly all breasts and no brains. Don't tell me you dress like this because it's fashionable. Ha ha, ridiculous. If you knew anything about fashion, you'd know how vulgar your outfit is right now..."
These words, like sharp blades, stabbed into Scarlett's heart, exposing all her insecurities. "You're just a little secretary! What right do you have to say these things to me?" Scarlett raised her hand to slap Olivia's face.
But who would have guessed? Olivia slightly raised her hand and easily caught her wrist. With a little force, she threw it aside, and Scarlett fell to the ground.
Ethan's eyes widened. He couldn't believe the secretary he had hired... was this fiery.
At this moment, Scarlett's eyes were dim. She looked at Ethan pitifully, hoping for his help. But he didn't seem inclined to intervene. She could only pick up her bag and run out in tears.
Olivia was annoyed with herself. She had let her temper get the best of her. Just now, she had lost control and driven away Ethan's girlfriend.
Now, Olivia didn't know how to clean up the mess. She looked at Ethan timidly and let out an awkward laugh. "Um, Mr. Davis, I'll... help you clean up the door, shall I?"
"What? Do I need your help cleaning up the door? I was originally planning to ask Scarlett to have dinner together later, but who knew you'd drive her away without a word... Then I'll have to trouble you to have dinner with me tonight?" Ethan gave a mischievous smile.
Not to mention, Olivia had a bit of a temper. But in terms of appearance, she was one of the most beautiful women in the city. Otherwise, Ethan wouldn't be so good-natured about her repeated offenses. If it had been anyone else, he would have fired her a hundred times by now.
Ethan wasn't angry about today's incident. He thought the little secretary was really quite interesting.
