The car didn't stop until it reached Sunset Community. Emma glanced out the window and froze. Wasn't this her own neighborhood?
Could Liam Williams actually be kind enough to drive her home? There had to be some trick.
Emma's lips pressed together as she shot a quick look at Liam.
Forget it. Better to get out while she could.
She unbuckled her seatbelt, cleared her throat, and said flatly, "Thanks for the ride. If that's all, I'll be going now. Goodbye..."
Before the words even left her mouth, she pushed the door open, ready to bolt.
But just as the door cracked open, Liam yanked her back. "What's the rush? Who said I was taking you home?"
Then why were they here?
Emma couldn't figure him out.
"Then what are you—" She turned, frowning in confusion.
"To meet my in-laws." Liam's answer was blunt.
The moment she heard it, a bad feeling settled in Emma's stomach. She had really messed things up.
First, she mistook her blind date. Then she ended up married to this man named Liam Williams.
And now, if her parents saw him, it wouldn't be a surprise—it would be a shock.
At that thought, Emma shook her head frantically. "No. Absolutely not. I forbid you from doing this." She shoved the door open, determined to sprint home.
But Liam wasn't about to let her escape. Emma was driving him crazy. How could she get married at first sight and then refuse to bring him home?
That made no sense. It was completely unreasonable. Thinking this, Emma quickened her pace, breaking into a jog.
Liam stared after her. "... "
Was he really that terrifying? It was just meeting the in-laws. Besides, even if they didn't meet now, they'd have to eventually!
What was going through this girl's head?
Seeing her speed up, Liam got out of the car and chased after her.
He caught up in a few strides and grabbed her arm, pulling her back.
Because she was moving so fast, the sudden tug threw her off balance, and she crashed heavily into Liam's chest.
"Let me go, Liam! What do you think you're doing?" Emma shouted, flailing her arms.
"I should be asking you that. You keep throwing yourself into my arms—on purpose?" Liam smirked down at the woman in his grasp.
What? Throwing herself into his arms?
In his dreams!
Embarrassed and furious, Emma struggled harder, but the more she fought, the tighter he held her, pinning her in place.
"Liam, let me go! I didn't do anything to you. Stop bothering me—"
"Ah—" This time, Liam had run out of patience. He stepped forward, pressing Emma against the car. Before she could finish, he dipped his head and silenced her with a kiss.
They were kissing again.
No—Emma was being forced to kiss again.
Liam's hands gripped her firmly, one holding her chin to keep her face tilted up. His eyes burned with frustration, forcing her to meet his gaze.
His strong masculine scent invaded the air around her. She tried to speak, but his cold lips pressed down, devouring hers in a frenzy.
Her words never made it out. Every time she tried to talk, his tongue slipped inside, scattering her thoughts and making her panic.
Emma wanted to fight back, but her hands were trapped in his grip.
The kiss was too sudden, too intense, and far too long. It left Emma weak.
Her back pressed against the cold car, while Liam loomed over her, aggressive and unstoppable. She had nowhere to go. Her body softened bit by bit, unable to handle the kiss. The suffocating sensation crept through every cell.
When her last ounce of strength gave out, Emma's body began to slide down the car.
Sensing her distress, Liam wrapped his right arm around her waist. He reluctantly pulled away from her pink lips, squinting at the gasping woman.
Maybe it was from the lack of oxygen, but Emma's round face was flushed a soft pink. Her thin lips parted slightly, her brows furrowed, and she looked up at him with pitiful eyes.
"Don't look at me like I've done something wrong. Emma, don't forget—I'm your legal husband." Liam felt a little uncomfortable under her gaze, as if he were the one at fault.
Wasn't it natural for a husband and wife to do these things?
"Liam, we only met today for the first time. Isn't it too soon to see my parents?" Emma asked cautiously.
"What do you think?"
"I think... maybe... maybe I'm rushing things a bit..." Emma was completely intimidated by this unreasonable man. How could anyone be like this? To avoid provoking him further, she chose her words carefully.
"Well, I don't think so. We're already married. What's wrong with meeting the in-laws? Besides, you're the one who proposed getting married today! Right? Or do you want to back out now?" Liam said, squinting as he leaned closer to Emma. He lowered his head, ready to kiss her again.
Seeing him, Emma wanted to retreat, but there was nowhere to go. She could only push against his chest. "No, no, no! I'm not backing out! I'll take you right now, okay? I'll go right now!"
At this point, Emma had no choice but to go along. Who knew fate would toy with her like this?
Heaven, if she ever got another chance, she would choose wisely and keep her eyes wide open. She would never get tangled up with Liam Williams again.
Liam finally heard what he wanted. "That's more like it. You're being sensible now. You don't need me to 'train' you, do you?"
He stepped back two paces, clearing the way for Emma, and made an inviting gesture.
Emma raised a hand to straighten her clothes, then walked toward home.
Liam watched her retreating back, a meaningful look in his eyes. He turned and lifted the corner of his mouth slightly.
To think he had actually married this woman. A shrewd glint flashed in his eyes. What method would work best to achieve his goal?
Liam hesitated for half a second, then followed.
