Chapter 339

Then, he saw Amelia holding a pair of chopsticks, placing a piece of the squirrel fish she knew he loved onto Benjamin's plate. The smile in her eyes was even sweeter and warmer.

"Brother, you barely touched your favorite dish tonight. I went through all the trouble of making it."

Amelia's voice was thick with coaxing affection. Benjamin looked at her, gave a faint nod, and ate the fish she had put in his bowl. Seeing this, Amelia's happiness seemed to radiate from the very depths of her heart.

Benjamin, however, stared coldly at the green vegetables sitting in his own bowl.

Emma was waiting in the bedroom for Liam to finish his meal so he could take her back to the apartment. After a while, he walked in.

"Are you done? Can we go now?"

Emma stood up and spoke to Liam.

"Yes. But don't you have anything to say to me?"

Liam stood by the door, his tall, lean figure looking like a model's.

"You mean about Noah? It's exactly what Amelia said. It was just a coincidence. I have no idea how he spotted me. If you think I arranged to meet him on purpose, that's impossible. Don't forget, I was in the shop Amelia decorated. Would anyone schedule a date with their ex-boyfriend at their future sister-in-law's store? Well, I've said my piece. Liam, what else do you want me to say?"

Emma was unhappy. She had been holding a fire in her heart because of Amelia, and now Liam was questioning her again. Her anger couldn't be contained.

In truth, Liam already felt a pang of regret the moment he spoke. He knew Emma. Compared to Elijah, her ex-boyfriend probably didn't leave a single trace in her heart. He was just reacting out of a reflexive jealousy. That was her boyfriend of seven years, and Emma was someone who loved deeply and loyally. He couldn't help but wonder. He was afraid she hadn't truly let go of her past.

Although, from Emma's attitude, Liam had already judged that she felt no nostalgia for Noah.

"I understand. Get your things. Let's head back."

Even though he felt sorry in his heart, Liam didn't know how to apologize to Emma. He finally nodded with a light, almost arrogant expression, as if he was satisfied with her explanation. Then he went downstairs to say goodbye to Henry before leaving.

Emma was almost furious at Liam's haughty and indifferent demeanor. She felt a surge of anger. She felt that she didn't need to explain anything to this man at all. After all, she had no real relationship with Liam. Compared to Noah, he was the one who came later, wasn't he? It wasn't like she had met him before she fell in love with Noah. What was the point of her explanation?

Emma went downstairs and saw Amelia in the living room. For a moment, she really didn't want to talk to her. Sometimes, ignorance was truly a headache.

"Are you leaving, sister-in-law? Why don't you stay the night? I watch TV by myself every day. I feel so bored."

Amelia wasn't willing to let go, grabbing Emma's arm and saying.

As soon as Emma heard this, she felt her head ache. Her patience for watching two hours of TV with Amelia was already her limit. Going back to Windsor Manor meant at least three hours. For Emma, who thought watching TV series was a waste of her life, this was like slow suicide.

Well, although she had been trying to treat Amelia like a sister, in her heart, she really thought their personalities and temperaments were too different. If it weren't for her being Liam's sister, and her amnesia having something to do with her, she wouldn't have been so patient.

"There will be plenty of opportunities in the future. Aren't you going to supervise the renovation workers in person tomorrow? Don't watch TV dramas for too long at night. It's not good for your eyes."

Even though she thought that in her heart, Emma still spoke to her with the tone of a caring sister-in-law. There was no other way. If God could give her the right to choose her sister-in-law, there wouldn't be so much discord between them.

If you can't choose, you can only adapt and accept. Anyway, it was only one year. After a year, when the divorce was final, she wouldn't have to spend so many brain cells dealing with Amelia.

Emma comforted herself.

When getting into the car, Emma didn't sit in the front seat as usual, but in the back. Knowing she was unhappy, Liam remained silent and didn't object.

For two whole days, it seemed like Emma was determined to express her unhappiness by giving Liam the cold shoulder. When he spoke to her, she either ignored him or gave him a curt reply. Of course, when they were at the company, she said more. But her tone was the standard way a subordinate spoke to a superior about business.

It was the first time Liam had been treated like this by Emma. He felt that this feeling was really uncomfortable.

But he was the powerful President Williams. As long as he thought about it, how could he not handle this little woman, Emma? In terms of being calculating, Emma was not on the same level as him at all. So, for some reason, their relationship began to thaw on the third day.

"A way to reduce my debt?"

After dinner, Emma heard what Liam said. It was the first and longest sentence she had said to him at home in the past three days, but she was full of confusion.

"A small cup of coffee costs one hundred dollars, and a large back massage costs one thousand. Although it sounds far from thirty million, you can't understand the truth that a little adds up to a lot. How about it?"

Liam said to Emma. Sure enough, after listening to him, Emma couldn't help but open her eyes wide. Her clear eyes were shining.

"How about washing the dishes?"

"A hundred dollars."

"How about cleaning the house once?"

"There are maids here to clean every day. You don't need to do that."

Liam vetoed it, but Emma wanted to say she had no problem with it at all. What was the difference between this and washing dishes? But Liam obviously wasn't letting go of this issue, so Emma had to give up.

"If I cook a meal, how much debt will be paid off?"

Emma's eyes brightened, and she asked again.

"To my satisfaction, two thousand dollars."

When Emma heard two thousand dollars, she couldn't stay calm. If she had to cook three meals a day, the debt she could offset every day would be six thousand dollars. Plus at least one back massage, making coffee, and washing dishes, she could offset nearly ten thousand dollars of debt in one day. This was a good way to repay the debt.
