His eyes were bloodshot now, like a wolf from the mountains. His sharp claws flashed without mercy. I couldn't hide the murder in my eyes.
Christopher Martin arrived later, followed by Captain Reed and several police officers. When they entered the private room, they saw the men rolling on the floor, groaning in pain. They realized that without their help, Liam Williams had already taken care of all of them.
Everyone knew that as a former colonel who had been through countless violent conflicts between nations, even a few more men here wouldn't be his match. They were just a bunch of pathetic thugs.
"Take them all to the station. Make sure they rot in jail for at least ten years."
Liam took off his jacket and draped it over Emma Johnson. His voice was low and cold.
"You don't have to tell me. I won't let these bastards off easy."
Captain Reed hated men who bullied women more than anything. Growing up in a family that respected women, this was the most unforgivable thing to him. So right now, he was already figuring out what charges to pin on these men so they'd get sick of prison food.
"Liam, why are you here?"
Emma stared at Liam blankly. The warmth left in his jacket eased the chill in her body.
"You didn't call me."
Liam's eyes darkened as he spoke to Emma. She couldn't help but think that she had dialed Elijah Clark's number. How did she accidentally call Liam instead?
Even though she was out of danger, Emma still didn't know how to face Liam like before. She looked at Olivia Davis, who had almost fainted, and asked Liam for help.
"Can you call your good friend Ethan Davis? Olivia came here today because she was upset. It seems Ethan made her angry."
Olivia couldn't go home now, or her parents would break down. The best person to call was Ethan.
Liam gave her a silent look, then picked up his phone to call Ethan.
After hanging up, they waited for Ethan to arrive. Captain Reed had his men put shackles on the screaming men one by one and escort them out.
"What happened? Even Captain Reed is working. Yo, isn't this Mr. Williams? Why are you here with your wife? What's the matter, madam?"
William Thompson's voice rang out from the doorway. Liam looked at him with gloomy eyes. William felt a chill run down his spine.
"What, you don't know anything about this?"
Liam smiled at William, a terrible storm brewing beneath his dark eyes.
"Know? What do I know? All I know is there was a fight at my KTV and the police got involved. That's why I'm here as the boss. But I didn't expect Mr. Williams to be one of the participants. I really don't know how the media would report this if it got out. Don't you think so, Mrs. Williams?"
There was clearly a malicious smile in William's eyes. Emma guessed that William must have set up this accident when she heard he was the boss of this KTV. It was strange that she was so careless she didn't know who owned the place.
If she had known, how could she have come here with Olivia? Given the rivalry between William and Liam in the business world, how could he miss any chance to make Liam unhappy?
"You bastard. Aren't you afraid of retribution?"
Emma glared at William angrily.
"Retribution? I really don't understand why Mrs. Williams misunderstands me like this. Besides, I'm a devout Buddhist. How could I do anything immoral?"
William smiled carelessly, pulling out a gold and jade Buddha pendant from around his neck. Emma thought this man was shameless. A villain who dared to wear a Buddha statue—wasn't he afraid of suffering in hell after death?
Hadn't Liam taught him a lesson recently?
"Mr. Thompson, it's obvious this matter is right in front of us. You can't just lie your way out. Captain Reed, what do you think should be done?"
Facing Emma's anger and excitement, Liam seemed calm. After saying something to William, he turned to Captain Reed and looked at him.
Captain Reed nodded, then looked at William seriously.
"Mr. Thompson, please come to the station with me. Also, your KTV will be shut down starting tonight."
As Captain Reed's words fell, William's face changed. "I want to see my lawyer."
"Of course, but this KTV still needs to be shut down. Even if you get a lawyer, you can't break the laws of the country."
Captain Reed said without concern. At that moment, William seemed to understand why Liam looked so calm. So this was his final move.
"Mr. Williams, do you really think you have the power to shut down my shop?"
William looked at Liam and asked.
Liam stood up slowly. Even though he was only wearing a white shirt, his demeanor was still elegant and noble. He walked slowly to William's side, the corner of his lips curling coldly, his eyes clear as he looked at William.
"Do you think I can't? Don't forget how your entertainment company and real estate development disappeared. A small KTV is nothing to me."
Liam's arrogant tone angered William.
"Don't think you're the only one with connections in the police station."
"Oh? But I heard Secretary Lewis has been taken away by the prosecutors. I'm afraid we'll soon hear about a nationwide corruption case. As for you, who used to be close with Secretary Lewis, your partners are too busy avoiding you to help. Even if you built a mountain of gold in front of them, they'd have to be able to spend it, right?"
Liam sneered at William, who was being led away in shackles. He knew William would be out in two days. But there were lessons to be learned. It seemed his progress was still too slow. The game of cannibalism needed to speed up.
