"Why did you barge in without knocking?"
Seeing Liam Williams suddenly walk in, Emma Johnson immediately covered her chest. But in truth, it did nothing. If anything, it only made things more obvious.
"Is there anywhere on you that I haven't seen before?"
Liam raised an eyebrow slightly, his dark eyes burning with intensity. At this moment, the way he looked at Emma was exactly how a hunter gazed at his prey.
Tell me, which hunter wouldn't feel thrilled seeing the game trapped in a cage? Liam was no exception.
Bright eyes, white teeth, skin like snow, hair like ink. And those soft cherry lips that made him want to bite them the moment he saw them. Her taste was sweet and mellow. Once someone got a taste, they'd fall deep into it, unable to pull themselves out.
Liam's hands roamed over Emma's body. Her skin seemed so delicate. It was easy to leave marks with just one touch. She couldn't help but cry out about how rough he was. Even though he didn't mean to, he couldn't control his strength when he touched her baby-soft skin.
Especially when he saw her covered in marks he'd left behind, it gave him a special sense of satisfaction.
Maybe only at times like this did Liam feel that Emma truly belonged to him. No fox hunting, no one else—just his woman, and his alone.
The next day, Emma still woke up very late. When she opened her eyes and raised her arm to shield them from the light, she felt utterly helpless. Was she here for a vacation, or just to let Liam toss her around?
During these two days at the hotel, Liam was clearly more unrestrained and more ruthless than he was at home. There was hardly any difference between him and a hungry wolf. On the contrary, she hoped he'd finish his business trip in Silverdale as soon as possible. Once they got home to Sunrise Manor, Liam would be able to hold back a little more.
After all, they weren't the only people living there.
Today, Liam rarely had nothing to do. Remembering that Amelia had visited Lake Serenity and the mall yesterday, and thinking Emma might be interested, he planned to take her out for a stroll today.
But just as she got up, Amelia knocked on the door and came in.
"Brother, did you try the tie I bought you yesterday? What do you think? Do you like it?"
Amelia looked at Liam expectantly, but he only nodded.
"Yeah."
In truth, last night he was only busy with Emma. He didn't have time to look at those ties. But Amelia obviously believed him. Still, when she saw he was wearing casual clothes today instead of a tie, her eyes showed a hint of disappointment.
"Brother, you're not going to work today? Then let's go to Lake Serenity. I only stayed for a little while yesterday, and I didn't get a chance to go rowing on it."
Amelia's face was full of anticipation.
"Not today. Your sister-in-law and I are going to survey the project site. You can come with us."
Liam's excuse was flimsy. Emma thought to herself, You're such a liar. I'm just worried that if I'm with Amelia, something might happen, so I don't want to play together.
Do you have to be so cautious? What happened last time was an accident. It wasn't what I wanted.
However, Emma didn't call Liam out on his lie. After all, after what happened last time, she still had some shadows in her heart.
Even if Amelia didn't seem to care.
Amelia was disappointed and had to leave with Benjamin. But Liam took Emma to the mall.
Originally, Emma planned to do some serious shopping. After all, although Amelia had bought her some clothes yesterday, which were also in season, they weren't what Emma usually liked to wear.
So when she walked into a famous brand store, she bought a few pieces, and the results were quite good. She intended to pay with her own card, but every time before she could take out her wallet, Liam had already handed his card to the front desk clerk. The atmosphere was overwhelming.
Although Liam had always been generous to her, giving her many luxuries, this was the first time she felt it directly from the envious eyes of others. It made her feel a little vain.
It was such a good feeling that she couldn't refuse.
In return, she bought two ties for Liam with her own card. One dark purple, one gray. They were Liam's favorite colors. But Liam didn't expect this woman to remember to buy something for him. His iceberg-like cold eyes unconsciously softened with a touch of warmth.
Finally, after shopping, Emma and Liam returned to the hotel. Shortly after, Amelia got the news and hurried over. Emma didn't expect Amelia to spend such a short time at Lake Serenity. It seemed she and Liam had only been shopping for two hours. Lake Serenity was so big—could she have finished it in such a short time?
If she hadn't been tired, she had planned to go to Lake Serenity with Liam.
"Sister-in-law, didn't you go to survey the project? How did you end up shopping?" Emma wasn't sure if it was her imagination, but the smile on Amelia's face seemed forced. She wasn't as happy as when she first walked into the room.
"After the survey, we went to the mall. Here are some clothes your sister-in-law bought for you. Go back and try them on."
Liam handed the bags Emma had bought for Amelia to her. Amelia took them and said thank you.
Then she stood there, refusing to leave, until Benjamin came in.
"Brother, are you free this afternoon? Can you meet a client with me? I'm very interested in working with him. But I don't know this person as well as you do. It should be safer with you around."
"Alright, I'll clean up and go with you. Emma, you can have dinner with Amelia tonight."
"Amelia, your brother and I might come back late. You eat with your sister-in-law at the hotel, then go back to your room and rest well. I'll play with you tomorrow."
Benjamin reached out to touch Amelia's head, his tone full of affection.
"Alright, brother, second brother, you go ahead. Don't worry about me and my sister-in-law."
Amelia took Emma's arm and said to them.
Seeing that Amelia didn't mind, a stone in Benjamin's heart fell to the ground. He and Liam left at ease.
After they left, Amelia and Emma watched TV dramas in the bedroom all afternoon. Although Emma didn't like watching them at all, she felt guilty toward Amelia, so she insisted on staying.
All afternoon, she felt like she was wasting her life. Even lying in bed would have been healthier.
