"Editor-in-chief, are you really going to have dinner with Scarlett tonight?" Ava asked.
"Of course. Since she invited me, it would be too petty to refuse. But I won't go alone. You're coming with me."

Emma told Ava that Scarlett had booked a table at The Waterfront, a famous restaurant in the city known for its excellent new dishes.

Emma called Liam and told him about her evening plans with Scarlett. Liam had just received news that the ghost woman had been spotted on Willow Creek Drive, and he was about to lead a team to surround her. He wouldn't be able to go home and cook for Emma tonight.
Knowing Liam had a business dinner and wouldn't be home, Emma felt her guilt ease. Without any burden, she went to The Waterfront with Ava.
Mia was just seeing a friend out of the restaurant when she spotted Emma. She led her to Scarlett's private room.
"I saw your cousin with her too. I'm afraid Scarlett isn't up to any good. This isn't just a simple dinner."
Mia was worried for her friend and shared what she had seen.
Emma thought her friend was being a little paranoid, but she understood her concern. After all, because of Isabella's attempt to seduce Noah, Emma had been gossiped about for a long time. Mia had been particularly impressed when she saw Emma back then, so naturally, she wouldn't have a good impression of Isabella.

Emma patted Mia's hand to reassure her, then took Ava into the private room.
