Chapter 123

As they reached the entrance of the grand hall, Emma nervously tugged at Olivia's sleeve. "Once we're inside, keep your voice down and don't cause any trouble, okay?"

"Got it! But hey... that dress you're wearing is seriously stylish. It's from Liam, isn't it?"

Emma opened her mouth, ready to deny it. She hated Isabella with a burning passion. But the words died in her throat.

She swallowed hard. "Uh... I'll tell you later. Let's just go in first."

Yeah, Emma was so "generous" that she couldn't resist accepting Isabella's gift and wearing it out in public. If Liam hadn't said it looked good, this dress would have been buried at the bottom of her closet forever.

But it seemed fate loved to mock her.

Just as they crept back into the middle of the hall, a loud CRASH echoed through the room.

The sound of a glass shattering.

Normally, that wouldn't be a big deal. But the entire hall fell silent at that exact moment.

Emma and Olivia froze in place, terrified.

All eyes turned to Emma's petite figure.

Her face burned with embarrassment. She waved frantically at the crowd. "It wasn't us! It wasn't us! Please, carry on..."

Emma glanced around and realized a child had been messing around and accidentally knocked over a cup on a table.

That little brat had really done her a huge disservice.

Emma bit her lip and stole a nervous glance at Liam, who was standing on the stage looking thoroughly annoyed. Her heart pounded.

If she had known this would happen, she never would have brought Olivia along.

What a disaster.

For the next twenty minutes, during Liam's speech, Emma couldn't bring herself to lift her head.

So much for a good performance.

So much for making Liam happy.

Could things possibly get any worse?

How was she supposed to become Mrs. Liam Williams now?

While Emma was drowning in misery, Olivia was completely unbothered. She stared at Liam with sparkling eyes and poked Emma's arm. "Girl, you must have saved a country in your past life to marry a man as handsome and loaded as Liam. So... how's the rich life treating you?"

Fate? Handsome?

Olivia had clearly never seen Liam when he was throwing a tantrum.

Emma rolled her eyes internally. She must have dug up Liam's ancestral grave in her past life. This was clearly his revenge on her. "Olivia, if you like him so much, I don't mind giving him to you. And honestly, I'm just a simple girl. I'm not cut out for fancy food. I'm only good for plain meals!"

"Yeah, right. Don't think I haven't noticed the way you look at him. Your eyes are different. You're just being stubborn. If someone steals your husband one day, don't come crying to me."

Even though Olivia had never been in love, she wasn't stupid. She knew that when you cared about someone, you acted exactly like Emma did.

Even an outsider like Olivia could see it clearly.

Time really did fly.

As they chatted, Liam's speech finally came to an end.

After a round of polite applause, the host announced the fashion show by Milan Fashion House.

The first floor banquet hall of Pinnacle Corporation was now packed with representatives from famous companies and authoritative media reporters from all over the city.

Many of these people Emma had only ever seen on TV or in magazines.

As the show began, Liam's familiar figure emerged from backstage.

He walked to the middle of the front row and unbuttoned his suit jacket.

His face was cold, his thick eyebrows like ink, his lips slightly pursed, and his dark eyes held a hint of frost.

Emma was mesmerized. Even though they were far apart, her eyes were fixed on him.

She didn't really mean what she had said earlier.

Liam looked so upset...

Was he really that angry?

Emma rested her chin on her hand and stared at Liam's back.

It seemed she really did have a talent for messing everything up.

She was reckless, careless, and timid. When things went wrong, she just got stubborn.

Liam was different. He was born wise and steady. Every time he faced a problem, he could solve it rationally.

Why was God so unfair?

Just thinking about it, this man was already miles ahead of everyone else just because of his looks. But on top of that, he had a father who was filthy rich. And even with all that money, how could his IQ be so ridiculously high?

Emma pouted and let out an angry sigh.

By now, the show had started.

The first model to walk out in full dress was Isabella. Today, she looked completely different from usual.

She was wearing heavy smoky eye makeup, but her short, precious blue dress perfectly highlighted her sexy and arrogant temperament.

This was a dress solemnly launched by the chief designer of Milan Fashion House. It was sexy, elegant, noble, with just a hint of playfulness and cuteness.

As soon as Isabella appeared on stage, the crowd erupted in cheers.

Liam sat in the audience, coldly watching the models come and go. But his heart was restless.

He was still stewing over what had happened earlier. He had been giving a perfectly good speech, and she had interrupted him twice!

Couldn't that woman keep herself in check for once?

Liam had been furious on stage, but he couldn't let the media see it.

But the real reason for his anger wasn't that Emma had caused a scene.

It was that she had the nerve to wear that dress so calmly and flaunt herself in front of him.

By the time William Thompson from Summit Group arrived, the show was almost over.

But the moment he walked into the hall, he saw Isabella on stage and was immediately captivated.

This was exactly the kind of woman William liked.

Sexy, enchanting... and a little arrogant?

William glanced at Christopher Martin beside him and said with interest, "Christopher, what's the name of that girl standing in the front? I wonder if I could have a drink with her later?"

William was famous in the city for his love of women. Almost no girl he set his sights on could escape.

But this time, unfortunately for him...

He had set his sights on Isabella.

Christopher, as a company representative, had to smile and reply no matter how disgusted he felt. "Mr. Thompson, that's a model our company just signed. She's still a newcomer. I'll introduce you later."

"Good. Christopher, you're straightforward. I like that." William was delighted to hear that.

After that, William crossed his arms over his chest.

A lecherous expression appeared on his smiling face.
